Marshall doesn't recruit down. If Coach is interested it's because he can add value in some way.

I thought the same thing when I saw the first video of Tim Rowe but the later video was much improved. I think we all need to trust in Marshall as his track record is pretty good. I have been a victim of this as well but in the long run Marshall system wins out. The other finalist for this kids services are St. Louis who was top 25 most of last year will probably be in the same place this year. Another thing to think of is that when he misses the kid usually transfers as we very rarely have an empty scholarship for the full 4 years. Anacreon and White are recent examples of this.

Regarding St. Louis, keep in mind that the guy at the helm now couldn't sustain success at Evansville. A tall task for sure, but he couldn't recruit enough talent to stay relevant in the Valley.
That said, I do have trust in Marshall and the coaching staff. They see something they can get from this kid over two years.
After looking at more of Wiley's stats last year, they were extremely heavy in seniors and juniors, to the tune of 7 of their top 8 players. So it may be there just weren't many minutes available for the Kenyan. We'll find out a lot with him playing this season at a Texas juco.

That article puts his NAIA numbers in perspective in that it took him into the season to get eligible and the coach says the system did not fit his style. With the new rules an eraser by the goal is almost a must to protect the perimeter players. They don't have to grab on the way to the basket when a shot blocker is protecting the rim. It seems like I want to red shirt everyone but I wonder if this kid would be a possibility so he can develop. I guess it will depend on how he does in the JC ranks.

An extra tall, long, lean, athletic player who is about grades and hard work.... you know that kind of sounds just like what Marshall looks for in every recruit he goes after in the front court.
