O’Connell would be another good one, but Collins would be a game changer at a position of need.

            He’d definitely sell some tickets…

This guy is intriguing. But I can't help but look at his two years at Kentucky and wonder if he's starter material, or just a very athletic backup who can give 10 minutes and five fouls a game. It's difficult to discern if he's just been held back by "Kentucky-level talent" or if he's Isaac Abidde's clone.

I know i've been a big pusher of looking at historical data to decide that but I'll say there are a handful of schools where its super common for quality players to get buried on the bench. Kentucky is one of them. So i'm tending to give some leeway with how much I'm relying on that for my opinion on Collins .

If Kentucky confuses you a little, go back a little bit farther, and compare the players. Did Isaac Abidde average 35 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, and 6 blocks? And here is Collins player rankings. Did IA rank 14th best player nationally, 3 ranked as a PF, etc.? Maybe IA has untapped potential, but it has been under the surface in high school, and college. DC just didn't emerge at Kentucky as a player, which could be for multiple reasons.

Daimion Collins is a 6-9, 210-pound Center (BK) from Atlanta, TX.

Yea, I think he would be worth one of our schollies. Dreaming about nine players with frontline players consisting of Collins, KP, Vanover and Germany. Perimeter players consisting of Beverly, Rogers, O'Connell, Cortes and Bell. Those nine would refill the arena immediately !

I'm sure he was a highly rated high/prep school player to end up at Kentucky. I'm not arguing he wasn't better than Abidde back then. But we find out in college if their pre-college statistics translate to consistently better competition. I'm not saying he isn't capable of putting up 12 and 6 per game here, just wondering out loud if he is enough better than IA to be "the guy" at PF for us. I'm very willing to accept he and Cortes may both be guys who just need to see consistent minutes (or a change of coaching/environment) to show they can be effective starters at their respective positions.

I think we have only 3 scholarships left so unless someone walks on we can't land Collins, Pohto, Vanover and O'Connell. It's likely either Pohto or Vanover but not both.

Was behind the best center in D1. He is first team all AAC caliber

I wonder what kind of NIL offers he is receiving.

                              my guess is 250-500k/yr.

I know he has the pedigree but the man averaged 1.9 pts and 1.9 rebs last season. I'm not sure that's worth the same money as Max Abmas.
