Pohto is not on the team? Talked to someone last Sunday that said he is still practicing with the team. Once you go in the portal does that automatically make you no longer on the team? Unfortunately we don’t get any info from WSU basketball so no idea what is going on with Pohto.

My bad, I thought Pohto being at the announcement of the new coach meant he was staying. It would seem like I’m wrong.

not sure I’d take this guy over Pohto, but if we’re losing Pohto, maybe it will end up better for us.

Sometimes things like this have a strange way of working out.

Also note I’m not very connected to the program these days.

He would be a good get if we could get him. Something like 12 points and 8 rebounds per game. Sun Belt was pretty salty this year, too.

Once you are in the portal, you are no longer a member of the team from my understanding. You lose all benefits and your scholarship is officially considered available for someone else the next semester.

Right now none of the practices are official, so if he's "practicing with the team" its no different than him playing with some random friends.

If he decides to pull his name out of the portal, then that reverses that but i haven't seen where he pulled his name out of the portal.

KP is CLEARLY better than this young man but he could be a decent backup if KP re commits. Always nice to have three serviceable centers

I don't see it so clearly. I believe Pohto is just a bit behind German, but has a higher ceiling. He's got to muscle up and learn to use his size.
Of course this is based on what I've seen on his highlight video. Also nothing defensively.

Other than being the same height - his game and KP's game do not look the same to me. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I'm sticking with "clearly" based mostly on the tape I have seen and my own personal judgement, however, 247 sports also clearly rates KP significantly higher. I am keeping my fingers crossed that KP re commits.

Do you think his parents are important to him? Kingston Ok. Is close enough to Wichita for them to visit with him. They will impact his decision.
