Agreed. The chemistry between the players (most of em anyway) and the coach sucked. That's why 2/3 of the team left.

But that's all water under the bridge now...

That's the way I saw him. Lazy and spoiled

I agree. I know you liked Jemarious which I did too, but I didn’t like his reaction to Grant, nor Grant’s to Jemarious. Jemarious could play multiple positions, while Grant was more limited. Instead of one of them being the adult in the room, Jemarious, looked at Grant as a foe to be defeated, and Grant vice versa. They fought against each other which became a self fulfilling prophecy, with the Shocks being less effective.

Both too immature to understand that personalities and competition will follow them their entire lives.

I think we have finally hit the ceiling for annual transfers and wouldn't be surprised to a downward sloping curve for the next 3 years.

I hope you are correct. Many may have thought that this year would have more transfers than last. However, a decrease by 1.4% can hardly be called a "trend".

              • So when is the last day we can sign our last available scholarship player? Is there a deadline?

I believe players can be added just as long as they can get enrolled for classes in the fall semester.

At this point we can't "sign" any additional players as the spring NLI signing period expired on May 18th. However, we can secure verbal commitments and add a scholarship player anytime between now and the deadline for enrolling in the fall semester. An NLI is not a requirement. Perhaps, they can sign a financial aid agreement. However, I don't think anything is official until the player is enrolled. Or at least that is my understanding.

The Shocker women still have 6 scholarships to use (if they want to use the full allotment of 15) for next year. Not uncommon for HCKA to add international players late.

                    • Some recent AAC draft decisions:

Marcus Sasser is withdrawing from the NBA draft and returning to Houston.
DeAndre Williams is withdrawing from the NBA draft and returning to Memphis.
Lester Quinones (Memphis) is remaining in the NBA draft.
Khalif Battle is withdrawing from the NBA draft and returning to Temple.
Jalen Cook is withdrawing from the NBA draft and returning to Tulane.

My takeaways: Houston should be a top 5 team again this season. Temple and Tulane should, at minimum, be NIT teams this season. Penny Hardaway still has his work cut out for him on the recruiting trail.

                      • DeAndre Williams could be the first person playing college basketball and eligible for a Taco Bell senior discount at the same time. He makes Mitch Lightfoot look like a freshman.

                        • Memphis is really gonna miss Quinones. IMO, he's the best defender on that team and makes life miserable for our wings

he'll be starting his 5th season in college (redshirted his first year at Evansville, played 1). Still younger than Lightfoot.
