Every account I heard is that there was next to no interest from Grill. I can't speak to Chris having any issues with the program/university but the staff definitely reached out.

I didn’t mean to leave the impression that he has issues with the program or university. I’ve gotten the impression that he is ho-hum, luke warm, etc. with no real connection or support for the university. I grew up with parents and friends of mine who were Shocker supporters. Not every local kid feels that way. And who knows that Chris just didn’t like coaches who recruited or didn’t recruit his players he thought deserved being recruited by a local university.

Averaging 5.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game in 10 games averaging just 13 minutes per game. Shooting 56.1% from FG, 40% from three (4-10) and 90% from FT (9-10). Not too shabby.

Do the majority of these portal guys work out at all? Especially those coming from a lower level? We see how our 2 guys really struggle. I am watching Iowa tonight and noticed the guy from North Dakota that a lot of us wanted doesn't contribute a ton. Yesafu from Drake is a complete nobody at KU.

So you're saying his 4-Star rating coming out of high school may have been a bit inflated. Either that or he just got buried by the depth of talent at basketball powerhouses Nebraska and Eastern Illinois.
