  • Big Man Prospects (not actually pursuing any to my knowledge)

Since there is a big need for a big man who can step in, here are a few I found (somewhat) intriguing. WARNING: There are not a lot to choose from so don't get too excited:
    • Gorjak Gak - Florida (6'11" 244 lbs) - Has played sparingly in his three years due to injury. 4* guy out of HS. Left team in December. Finished his degree and is eligible right away.

    • Raymond Hawkins Alabama (6'9" 240 lbs) - 4* recruit. Was a freshman last season. Only played a total of 5 minutes. Not sure what that was about. Can't seem to find any injury or discipline things on the web. Sit one play 3.

    • James Karnik - Lehigh (6'9" 225 lbs) - Averaged 12.2 points and 7.2 rebounds last season while shooting 57%. Not highly recruited out of high school. Sit one play one.

    • Hayden Koval - Central Arkansas (7'0" 220) - Averaged 12.2 points and 7.6 rebounds last season. Sit one play two.

    • Mattias Markusson - Loyola Marymount (7'3" 261 lbs) - Sat out as a redshirt last year after his Mom passed away. Averaged 10 and 6 the year before. Grad transfer immediately available with 1 year to play.

    • Brendan Medley-Bacon - Coppin State (7'1" 245 lbs) - Averaged 7.5 points and 8.9 rebounds as a Sophomore this past season.

    • Corbin Merritt - Oklahoma (6'9" 245 lbs) - Only played in seven games this past season. Not much in the way of stats. Has size and was fairly highly recruited.

    • Joshua Morgan - Long Beach (6'11" 195) - Skinny big man. Average 8.4 points and 6.1 rebounds while shooting 62% as freshman last year. 3* recruit out of high school. Sit one play 3. Project for Rosenboom.

    • Jock Perry - Saint Mary's (7'1" 250 lbs) - 3.3 points and 2.1 rebounds last season. Eligible right away with one year to play.

With limited options as mentioned in the original post, I was sorting through JUCO blocks/rebounding leaders and found Philip Pepple Jr. (6-10 235 LBS) not even included by jucorecruiting.comโ€™s Top 100. Very similar stats to JUCO Echenique, 20.5 MPG, 12.1 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 2.9 BPG. Shot 63% from the field and while he was only 1-5 from 3, 77 FT% shows he may have the touch to extend his range with some work with the coaching staff. Only has offers from SIUE & Grambling State per his personal Twitter.

We just went through that with our guards. Need a true center.

It's happened before where it is a surprise player none of us had ever heard of or at least not on anybody's radar.

Jeriah Horne is leaving Tulsa. 6'7" 225, a traditional 4. I believe he would be a sit one, play one. We were hot after him before.

In his note he mentioned graduating .. so might be a grad transfer eligible immediately.

Tayler Mattos from Bowling Green just entered the portal. Really young kid. Only 19 years old.

Jeriah Horne is too similar to Trey Werth, Dexter Dennis, and Clarence Jackson. A good player but not what we need.
