This is hilarious. We were looking at starting the year with Pohto, two redshirts, and a handful of random transfers to potentially keeping three of our best players plus our potentially best recruit, who had previously snubbed us, rescheduling a visit in 24 hours.

Yes, he has struggled on offense but we had bigger problems than him on that end of the court. His value defensively would be to hard to pass up IMO.

Two possibilities

1) Hero ball and resting up on the defensive end might not be getting him the deals he was hoping for
2) He's shopping for a Nijel Pack kind of deal , but doesn't have enough 5 or 6-figure offers to make a final list.

Just my opinion but here's a thought.

Austin Reaves is the type of player who can become an NBA guy under a player's coach.
Ricky Council IV is the type of player who can become an NBA player under a coach more like Marshall.

RCIV has the potential to be Etienne v2.0. IB didn't have the coaching chops to rein in TE. Could be the same problem if RCIV returns. OTOH, maybe IB learned something from last year.

Insider to the program said that Rudi wanted to come to Wichita because he wanted to play with Ricky. That's also why he cancelled his visit shortly after Ricky went in the portal .. also why he replanned it after Ricky opened the door to coming back.


Also of note .. Craig commented yesterday "it's lit" on Taylors post about Rudi rescheduling the visit .. so maybe Craig is helping recruit here too.
