Yes, and didn't WSU pay for those?

Yeah, all of our jerseys were Jordan brand. I think we had to buy them if I remember correctly.

        That's a good question.

To be honest, I have been disappointed that our profile over the past number of years hasn't garnered us more custom looking unis and gear. Perhaps that is not Marshall's thing. Our warm-ups last year were embarrassing all by themselves. Screen printed t-shirts... WTF?

Yeah I thought they paid for them. I totally missed out on that Nike deal announcement, so that's why I said what I did about wearing what ever they wanted since they paid for the jerseys.

And yes, the Final Four jerseys were different than the Jordan brand jerseys the team had on that year for the regular season and earlier parts of the tournament.

The 2013 FF unis are the same exact thing we still wear today as away team. They added the light/ash gray in the same design for the 2014 NCAA tourney, which is now one of the home alternates. The 2015 NCAA tourney didn't generate anything new for whatever reason.

I wish we could get a white and yellow version of the black away and silver alternate jerseys we had. I also would like to see a little more yellow on the silver and black unis. I love our current home whites, but they are a bit basic.

Also, I lol'd when I saw Creighton got the same jerseys we did a year later than us when they started wearing them in the 2014 Tournament.

              • Part of the problem, at least a few years back, stemmed from the fact that baseball wanted their own deal (under armor) and any other deal was for everything or nothing. Not sure about these days but I believe baseball is still separate and may still be an issue for NIKE.

                • I just checked the AAU backgounds of the recruits having us on their short list. It's very spread out among the shoe companies.

                  Bone: Team Thad (Under Armour)
                  Wilkens: Indiana Elite (Adidas)
                  Hughes: Ohio Basketball (Adidas)
                  Sneed: St. Louis Eagles (Nike)
Mitchell: Minnesota Fury (played at Adidas 64 but not for sure if they are sponsored)
K.J. Santos: Mac Irvin Fire (Nike)
Jeriah Horne: KC RunGMC (Under Armour)
Isaac Humphries: Spiece Indy Heat (Nike but played in only 1 game I believe before going home)

                  • I think a major factor motivating Nike to give us a deal at the FF was our opponent (Louisville) was a prominent Adidas team. Since we would have the swoosh on our uniforms they wanted us looking our best.

Excited to see the SCA prep and elite team rosters. I believe Sunrise will have a top 25 "lunker" from the class of 2017 next year...Isaiah Jasey.

                          • Not about the Shockers, but this is a good read about recruiting.

                            • I don't post often, but follow shocknet daily (yes, I know, I need a better life). Anyway, l play in a pick up group on Sunday nights (twin cities, MN) and last night, a young man came into play with us. Jalan Brown Jalan is currently being recruited by UNI. 6'3 wing. Great game, very athletic, a bit streaky, but overall, would be a nice pick up for UNI. When we were warming up, he was able to take a ball that was sitting on the floor, from a two footed stance, and go straight up and dunk. Very quick to the basket during the games (keep in mind, at 6'3, he was the tallest guy on the court) and could pretty much score inside at will. He will need to develop a bit more of a consistent outside shot to be scary good. My only criticism of his game was that he "talks" a bit too much. He could get easily rattled if anyone challenged him. I'm the oldest guy on the court by at least 15 years and had to monitor the "interactions" between him and a couple of other guys. But again, overall, would be a pretty nice get by UNI.
