Earl Watson to Rhode Island

Earl and Rian caught my eye very quickly at the camp here. Earl is tough inside, a quick leaper that leaps high in the sky, and nice inside moves. Did not see much shooting range but since he scored 20 points and 13 bounds, he does what he does and does it well.

Rian is quick, good handles, and Coach said when he crosses mid-court, you better guard him. He was indeed shooting the rock well in the scrimmages. However, between games, he was shooting NBA 3's silky smooth like it was protocall. If you like the way Mr. Baker shoots the rock, you will also like Rian.

These stats only include the 2nd and 3rd game played as there is no imput for the 1st and 4th game. Thus the 12.5 pts per game ( 8 and 17 points/2 ).

So far I believe he has gone for 10/8, 8/4, 17/11, and 20/13 in his 4 games.

If you're right about those being his individual game totals, he's averaging 14 and 9. On a team as deep and talented as Chipola's those are noteworthy numbers.

Chipola's website lacks even the game results, let alone stats, so hopefully the NJCAA site I liked will be reasonably accurate. If it's correct for the two games it does include, then Joseph Uchebo (the blue-chip big man) hasn't played yet. Once he does it is likely to have a negative effect on Watson's stat line.

Chipola was dominant but 19 of 45 from the line in two games. Oh my. Sounds like Earl is doing just fine, althouhg I don't know what his individual free thow effort was like.

Pretty solid numbers for Earl in 24 mpg. 61.5% from the line is not great but not a total disaster and that is something that a player can improve on with the right work ethic (i.e. Carl Hall).
