      • Some video of Earl at a Summer Juco Event at the bottom of this page. Looks like he needs to work on his touch around the basket -- but the ups are impressive.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

        • No need to improve his touch if he just dunks the ball. Very impressive athleticism from the big guy!

That may not be a bad comp.

              • Dude has ridiculous hops for his size. He was getting his head near or above the rim on almost all his dunks.

The dunk @ :27 is absolutely sick. I've watched it about 10 times because I can't figure out out he gets that much lift.

                  • Uh, he doesn't seem to be a dude that we'll have to coach how to be aggressive around the basket. That'll be a nice change.

Those were passes off the backboard to himself to get in better positions for slams.

Yes, his assist numbers are rediculous for a big fella.

                        • Sir Earl, space eater.

Is he able to make a 4' jump shot? That is my question.

I don't know, but he does not seem to possess the "spindly" characteristic that garners your fondness.

I recall reading a write-up that he operates primarily in the paint. Whether or not that extends to a 4' jump or baby hook I can't say.

@wufan: posted above (#104) that Earl on knocked down 50% of his free throws in his 1st year at Chipola.

So, it sounds like we are getting a guy who is going to do most of his work around the basket and in transition and perhaps a guy that will be sitting on the bench at the end of games if they are close.

                              • I could be wrong, but I thought I once read a description that he worked from ten feet and in. There's nothing wrong with that as you need a true low post type player on the roster. And next year especially. Lufile I think works best with him back to the basket but has a little bit of range. White can work inside but is much more versitle. Watson could give us an absolute beast inside. He's not as tall as we'd prefer, but with his wing span, size and athleticism, he'll make up for that and be a fine center.
