Thanks for the clarification on the charges, @htown44:.

      • I like what Derail is doing offensively to close out his senior year! His stats are starting to catch up with his size/skill combonation.

            • 6'7" tall and hitting 7 of 8 threes. Doesn't hardly seem fair does it.

Looking forward to seeing Derail and the rest of this class.

                • I didn't realize, initially, that Derail had that kind of range and ability.

Now the only question is, will he be capable of playing SF or is he a PF with range? Either way, I believe he'll need to bulk up some. But I'm liking what I'm hearing.

                  • I watched a couple videos on him. They didn't highlight any foot speed (good or bad) but showed that he has definate guard handles and a quick release. Also, he's "rangey." Can jump and block some shots. I might compare him most closely to David Kyles...

                    • Could it be that Derail has been over looked by the power teams?

Some of those stats seem almost too good to be true.

We lose three of our best 3 point shooters to graduation this year - Rags, David and Ben.

I was just thinking about that earlier. I don't know what kind of shooter Armstead is. I think Cotton is a solid threat that won't jack up a lot of shots but consistent enough to keep teams honest. Baker could definitely be a sniper but I don't expect him to be one dimensional.

I don't know what kind of percentages FVV shoots. Early has pretty poor numbers this year. Not sure about Hawkins either. But Green appears to be a major threat from deep.

I've thought that Green would RS. I also thought he'd be more of a PF. I'm not sure what to think anymore. We might be in need of another shooter. Especially one with his height which could lead to better looks.

                        PG - Armstead/Cotton/DWill/FVV
                        SG - DWill/Baker/Cotton/Wessel
                        SF - Early/Wessel/Hawkins?/Green?
                        PF - Hall/White/Anacreon/Hawkins?/Green?
                        C - Ehimen/Hall/Henry

That covers all 'ships I believe. Good depth at the guard spots. SF depends on the abilities of Green and/or Hawkins.

Post depth could be an issue. Hall will have to play some time at C since Ehimen can't play 40 minutes. I have confidence in White. But someone out of Anacreon/Hawkins/Green will be needed to step up and contribute a good 10-15 minutes I think. Early could slide there if that doesn't happen, but then we thin out at SF unless Green and/or Hawkins have the ability to give 10-15 there as well.

We're going to be young but the talent level is pretty impressive.

I think everybody is concentrting on the scholarship players.

I also think Wessel will get minutes at SF. I'm skeptical of Early seeing much time at SF - if any.

Not three of our best 3 point shooters. More accurately our 3 best 3 point shooters (by a pretty significant margin at this point) as the stats bear out.

In addition, to the points @SubGod22 made Jake White has shown that he might develop into a serviceable threat from 3 perhaps along the lines of Kyle Wilson.

We will have to wait and see what the newcomers will bring to the table. Always difficult to project how their games will work out at the D-1 level.
