Funny how the tweet saying he was denied admission, a single tweet, gets the run it has.

Matt had this to say before the Sienasoup tweet:
TheBluejayCafeTheBluejaycafe
"Was told last night that the Wichita St admin has put a hold on Anthony Hubbard's transfer there. Might not happen. Good news there IMO"
I believe Sienasoup is a fan and doesn't make his living reporting on recruiting. It's possible his info was based on Matt's tweet, but I don't know where he got the St. Peters stuff. ESPN now reports all of this, but as rumor. In the fast lane

The thing I find interesting is that this young man has done everything asked of him. He served his time, stayed in shape, continued to develop his game, went to JUCO and carried a 3.2 gpa, and is now trying to finish his degree while playing ball.
While some (DBMatt) think doors being closed on him are a good thing, if in fact we denied him admission because of his past, and without regard to what he has done to get his life straight and be applying to WSU, then shame on the administration.

The word out of Iowa is that Hubbard was on a short leash, which included no drinking. He promptly violated that rule, was caught in a bar, and dismissed from the team.
This has to be true, it was reported on a message board and someone even linked the tweet.
If Hubbard is still unable to follow rules, that's a huge red flag for someone with his background, and may explain why his recruitment has disappeared. A 26 year old guy who won't follow rules could really mess up a bunch of 18 - 21 year old teammates.
Besides, is it possible for WSU to refuse to admit someone? I think NCAA requirements are a lot more rigid than WSU's admissions policy.
I'm very skeptical of the tweet that said WSU denied him admission. That would be a huge breach of privacy from someone in the WSU admissions office if that was the source. If the source of that was actually Hubbard (the only person outside WSU admissions who would know) - who's to say whether he actually applied or is just saying he couldn't get admitted when the truth is probably closer to the Shox weren't interested. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Because where there is smoke, there is usually fire. We all know that public institutions will release information that is 'best for all concerned' (Iowa, not us).
More than likely, like it was said before, we just stopped having interest in him.

We know that tweets are not know for their quality in use of the written word. I can see where it might mean that WSU is denying that he's enrolled here.

Last i heard he was still in touch with several D-1 coaches and trying to find a home. Rumor he took an unofficial visit last week and then may be visiting someone else this week, probably NAIA based on speculation.
I am still disappointed if we did deny him admission, but those tweets carry as much weight to me as the email i got saying Congress had fixed the national debt.

BTW, the story about what happened at Iowa is a lot more severe than simply missing curfew or having a few drinks at a local bar. WSU did the right thing here if it is true that admissions wouldn't let him in.

Not to get into a pissing match, because 2JA has been very respectful on our board of late, but 3G's track record at WSU of having kids that keep their collective noses clean and at the same time representing the program, school and city with class and dignity is a record out in front of what CU can point to over the same period.
I have no knowledge of this kid at all, but if by chance he were to end up at WSU, Coach Marshall, without a doubt in my mind, gets the benefit of the doubt in the decision.
