He left Odessa, TX after a year to play closer to home so his mom could watch him play.

So now he is looking for somewhere to ball, and few schools have an open scholarship and WSU is one of them.
          Could be.

As you guys know, Nebraska was pretty hot to trot for Hubbard. When it was announced that he was leaving Iowa, they immediately got into touch with him and started to recruit him all over again. Then, suddenly, they announced that they were no longer interested in him. The rumor among Husker fans round these parts (and I stress rumor) is that once Nebraska coaches/admins found out why he was being asked to leave Iowa, they decided (or were told) not to pursue him any longer....

            From a strictly basketball standpoint:

            Anthony Hubbard 20.7 PPG; 10.1 RPG; 61% FT; 64% FG; 32% 3pt; 4.2 Assists/gm; 1.2 Steals/gm
----- For perspective, Joe Ragland averaged 3.7 Assists/gm; Clevin Hannah 3.4; and Reggie Chamberlin 4.6.

            Ben Smith 20.9 PPG; 11.4 RPG; 70% FT; 53% FG; 40% 3pt; 2.6 Assists/gm; 1.6 Steals/gm

            Ramone Clemente 15.6 PPG; 10.3 RPG; 63% FT; 56% FG; 1.3 Assists/gm; 0.9 Steals/gm

I'd liek to see Ragland and Hannah's JUCO numbers. Looking at him versus Ben Smith, he doesn't jump off the stat sheet that much. I like Ben but he's no game changer. I'd pass on this guy.

If you don't like my reporting on Hubbard - that's fine. I was told by two sources last night that he is going to land at Wichita St. (cont)

For the record, this is me (Matt Perrault). I don't really tweet about #Creighton on @sportstalkmatt anymore. Reports on here are from me.

What's significant in the above tweets by Matt is he says it came from two sources. Because of that and contacting others, my belief there is something to it is stronger today than it was last night. My take is we are probably in contact with each other and both sides are serious. However, Hubbard appeared to be headed to Nebraska a while back, so who knows how this will turn out. Also, hopefully, Harris and Green are still possibles.

He's not at the top of my list but whatever. If the staff isn't confident in it's belief that they can get Harris, then I don't really care what we use the last 'ship on or if we use it at all.

Anthony Hubbard has not committed to Wichita State. That's all I know. If I hear from Hubbard, I'll pass it on.

Well, if there is ever a program that is used to criminals, it would be Nebraska!

Didn't the Nebraska coaches say they had not interest in re-recruiting him?
