Based on the link that kai posted, if he's still anything like it sounded on that high school team, we should see if he has any interest in moving to Omaha.

The coach's description of that team reminded me of Coach Carter, but significantly worse.

Click on it, hit CTRL+F and type in Richard.

It looks like the coach from his prep school or high school talking about his season, and how he had to kick Amardi off the team. Is this the same guy? Would explain why he had all these teams interested, and then he goes to a JUCO.
      I think it's him.

BTW, I've been looking for a juco player who has three years to play who perhaps is very interested in being a Shocker.
And he's 6'8''. Wasn't that the magic height we were looking for, when coach made that comment about news on a player thats 6'8''?
6-8 was the height Ron Baker said we were holding a scholarship for. I don't believe Marshall has commented on the situation.
ahhhhhh. Well Amardi fits the bill, and he looks like a solid guy that slipped through the cracks for what ever reason. I just wonder why those schools, or other bigger schools haven't been after him since he went JUCO?
Recruitment on a juco with 3 years to play usually doesn't get much, if any press.

It's more likely that he played at a prep school in 2010.

It also looks like, from the Region V stats, that he worked his way onto the floor about mid-season, then got hurt down the stretch. He only appeared briefly in two games prior to Jan. 5, then didn't play after Feb. 5 as Weatherford lost all their remaining games.

During the month he got minutes, he had a monster game against Temple College when he went for 32 points, 16 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. He followed that up with 21/18/2 against Southwestern Christian College.

          A 2009 pic in a familiar location.

I get the feeiling, the 6-8 comment was made to insinuate we need to hold the 'ship for another big guy. At the time Baker committed, we were hot and heavy on several big guys that didn't work out. The coaches are still looking for the right guy. Just my opinion based on how things appear to have been played out.

I have confirmation from JucoJunction's Bret Swanson that Amardi redshirted in 2009-10. However, he did not add any info about Amardi's future. There was a coaching change at Weatherford, so it's possible he hasn't signed a new LOI because of that and is looking for a new juco.

Or perhaps he's waiting in the wings if we don't get Walker.

He's still looking for a new school. From facebook, I take it he doesn't have an offer.

10/1/12 update: Is at Indian Hills CC and has committed to Iowa State.

Iowa State didn't work out. He is visiting Gonzaga this weekend.

Hope this hurts Iowa State recruiting.
