I think Heiar is a strong hire without a package deal, but, hey I want players. I don't have a problem stealing Dewhitt. Top 20-25 preseason for sure.

I've pretty much concluded that college basketball is more like a business than an amateur sport. With that in mind, if a coach is hired away from another school and that coach ends up with some recruits attached, well, that's part of doing business.
After watching the situations with Bowles and McDermott, giving jobs to family members, etc. college basketball is no longer a "gentleman's" game when it comes to getting players.
When there are million dollar paychecks dependent on getting the right players, it's pretty much going to be open season for about anything. I'd like to think that it's not courteous to sign recruits previously committed to other schools by hiring their coach, but that ship has sailed and left the harbor. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Actually, if you're talking about bigs signed by USM, I'd take a look at Christian Robbins (7'0", 230 lbs) who should redshirt in 2011-12. Imagine if WSU established a tradition of 7'0"+ centers; GS, EO & CR all playing against one another in practice. :lol:Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

If the college basketball landscape has changed that much in just the last 5 years, I'd prefer WSU to be a late holdout among institutions on those situations and not give it the okee doke the first time it's in our favor.

I'm not saying I condone coaches taking recruits with them. I'm just saying that it's going to happen and pretty much nothing surprises me any more.
If Heiar brought USM's best recruit with him to WSU, I would not be comfortable with that. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
And, yes I think if that happens, the "receiving" school should reimburse the "losing" school for their recruiting costs.
There are probably less ethical things that happen in recruiting. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
