Holy Lord, is your family going to die if we have a repeat thread? Lighten up, Francis.

Since it seems to be the end of the world and you're just that important, I'll explain myself to you. I was an immature sophomore when I started the old thread and I didn't ask Gavin's permission to post the info that I did. I shouldn't have done that. I figured the best way to get rid of that thread was to make a new one. I did it out of respect for Gavin as a person.

Is that enough reason for you? Get your panties out of a wad?
    Love the new mature you.

Guess what, the old info on Gavin is still there. You could have deleted the posts you felt bad about, however, it probably doesn't make much difference after they've already been there for over 2 years. Plus, in the old thread, there may have been other info useful to readers. I do think your reason for starting a new thread was honorable, but not very effective.

I just thought it silly, as did others (also amusing--nice shoxlax). Sorry to disappoint, but nothing earth-shattering about it. This thread may get lost going forward while the old thread is still listed under the 2012 recruiting sticky. So, when people started to post here, we now have info in two locations.

I have no idea of your type of friendship with Gavin. I think you mean well. Nevertheless, out of respect for Gavin as a person, give him plenty of space when it comes to the Shockers and leave the recruiting to the coaches. Not lecturing, just an opinion, from a fellow Shocker fan.

The new mature me was just giving you a hard time. Guess I should have added some emoticons to ease the tone. ;-)

You couldn't really call Gavin and I friends-- we don't go hang out, he's not in my phone contacts-- but we do talk once every few weeks. We've had conversations that don't include recruiting talk. He knows who my allegiance is with and what jersey I'd like to see him in. And again, the few times that I do "recruit" him or "press" WSU on him, he knows I'm just giving him crap. I'll be happy for him no matter where he decides to play ball and he'll be successful wherever he goes.

I believe he transferred to Tennessee State and will play for Cooper's squad next year. Will be interesting to see if it works out for him!

I can't find an official statement, but looking at the comments on Gavin's facebook, it seems to be pretty clear that he will be transferring to Heights next year.

          Guess he wants to win.

That would be pretty sweet to see Gavin and Perry win a state championship together and then move on to WSU as a pair!!! Jumping the gun a little, but we'll see.

I am pretty sure that it has more to do with the fact that Coach Carl Taylor is retiring.

Is he? I hadn't heard that. What a loss to the kids and the city.

He has a good record, but I don't think anyone at Southeast will be mourning the loss. Carl Taylor is a capital dee eye see kay.

Is it just that easy to transfer?

I think your residence has to be within the school's district, but other than that it is not hard to transfer High Schools.

Okay, so if he is in the Southeast district, that means he isn't in the Heights district.

Umm......if he's got an uncle who lives in the Heights district, he uses that address. I believe this is a long used practice in the city league.

I believe that Seniors can transfer in the district as long as they meet certain requirements.
