Sounds like a good signing. With 3 seniors on this year's team I would anticipate a couple more signings before 2015 fall semester.

The Shocker men moved to 4-2 on the team season with a 7-0 whitewashing of UT-San Antonio.

No. 114 Tin Ostojic improved to 4-1 against nationally ranked competition, taking down No. 42 Tomas Stillman at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 to improve to 11-3 overall.

WSU (4-2) hosts No. 62 George Washington at Genesis, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

The Shocks posted a very nice 6-1 win over #61 George Washington this morning at Genesis Health gaining a small measure of revenge for the basketball team's loss to GW in Hawaii.

The Tin-Man of Ahs, aka Shocker Jr. Tin Ostojic, made big move up the ITA men's singles rankings jumping from #114 to #39.

Tin and his doubles partner, Tomislav Gregurivic, are ranked #20 nationally in men's doubles.

Tough weekend in Doo-Dah for the Cornhuskers as they drop a pair of games to the Shocker softball team as well.

I can't really tell you @RoyalShock but I suppose it depends on whether they complete any unfinished matches when the doubles point is secured and when the clinching 4th point of the match is secured. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

A quick e-mail to one of the Coaches would probably work. I'm sure they would enjoy hearing from a new fan.

The #52 Shocker men fell to #31 Drake 5-2 in MVC dual play.

The match pitting the top 2 Valley team probably will determine the Valley regular season champions for the dual season. It also ended a 20-match home win streak for the Shocker men.

The highlight for the Shocker men was the win by #54 Tin Ostojic over Drake,s #39 Alen Salibasic in the #1 singles.

The Valley is now down to 4 men's tennis programs. WSU, Drake, SIU and ILS.

With Creighton's 2013 move to the Big East Conference and its replacement by Loyola Chicago, which does not sponsor the sport, only four other Missouri Valley Conference schools sponsor men's tennis. The NCAA requires conferences to include at least six teams in order to earn automatic qualification to its championship tournaments and the grace period for The Valley to return to a six-team minimum in men's tennis will expire after the 2014-15 season.

The America East Conference was down to 3 schools with men's tennis and no longer sponsored the sport as a league. Those three teams UMBC, Stony Brook and Hartford will join the MVC as associate members in 2015 and 2016 and will play in the upcoming Valley Championship Tournament. None of the Valley teams have played the AEC teams this season.

Not sure if this will effect how All Sports Award points are assigned. In the past the Tennis ASA points were based on the regular season standings. Not sure it makes that much difference.

The more significant point is that the majority of the Valley schools apparently are unable to afford to sponsor an relatively inexpensive sport like men's tennis.

Is this just a sign of more to come from schools like Bradley.

If we didn't already know, that should tell us all we need in regards to the financial health of the Indiana State and Missouri State athletic departments.

But I'm afraid sports like tennis, which I love, will give way to soccer, which I'm indifferent toward.

Not sure Bradley and the MSU and INS situations are exactly the same. Bradley is clearing trying to cut costs as much as possible.

MSU and INS are not in great shape but they have the FCS football programs so even if they could afford men's tennis they probably would not add because of Title IX issues. In addition, to sucking resources away from other programs those FCS programs reduce the opportunity for men's sports in other areas. That's why MSU has women's tennis but not men's tennis, they have women's track & field/cross country but no men's programs, and they have women's field hockey. Obviously, MSU believes their FCS football program is more valuable than having those other men's sports and maybe that's right. It's a different model than WSU and Bradley but not necessarily worse. WSU is thriving. Bradley not so much.
