Shock easily over Harford in the MVC-AEC Tournament to move into the Valley semi-final round where they will play the SIU - UMBC winner.

No. 59 Wichita State needed less than two hours to complete a 4-0 sweep of Hartford, Friday afternoon in quarterfinal action at the Missouri Valley Conference Team Championships.

The #59 ranked Shocker men downed UMBC today 4-2 and will advance to the finals of the MVC-AEC Tournament tomorrow at 10:00 am against top seeded and #31 ranked Drake.

WSU advanced to the finals of the Missouri Valley Conference Team Championships for the sixth-straight year with 4-2 semifinal win over UMBC.

The Shocks have their work cut out for them because Drake is very good.

It looks like WSU won the doubles point.

Just as they did against Drake in the regular season, but we lost 5 of 6 singles matches then.

This time it's closer. It's tied at 3 now. One match will decide the champion.

MVC sports tweets we're in a "tiebreaker"....not sure if they're referring to the fact it's down to the last match or the last match is in a deciding tiebreaker.

They offer a "live link" that doesn't seem to work. Figures.

Each of the #1, #2, #3 and #4 singles matches went 3 sets.

Not sure what happened in the last match, but it really doesn't get a lot closer than that. It's a shame one of these teams (WSU) won't go to the tournament.

The final match, the #4 singles in fact went to a tiebreaker to decide the title.

Doesn't get much closer than that. Great effort from the Shocker men.

The Wichita State men's tennis team fell 4-3 to Drake, Sunday, in the final round of the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference Team Championships.

Drake with its #31 ranking was probably going to be in the NCAA in any case.

The Shocks ranking of #59 probably has them on the outside looking in. But I don't think you can ask for a much better effort from the guys.

                  :encouragement:

As expected the Shocker men's tennis team did not receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. However, Tin Ostojic did receive a bid as one of the 64 qualifiers in the singles draw and Tin and his partner Tomislav Gregurovic are among the 32 doubles teams selected to the field.

Tin Ostojic is one of 64 qualifiers in the singles draw. He and teammate Tomislav Gregurovic are also among the 32 doubles teams selected to the field.

Good luck to the Tin-Man and Grego! :poster_shocks:
