The game wednesday was a big game especially when we found out msu lost. but the crowd was not there. and im not even talking about it numbers. some of the best crowds i have seen were when the weather was bad and not many was there ex the blizzard a couple thanksgivings ago against either lsu or uab. the crowd as a whole acted like it was putting them out to get them up and stand. I want a crowd that refuses to sit down when the other teams scores on their first possession. It has been done before.
Ice and snow are completely different things and ice was the problem Wednesday night. When the game started, the arena was barely half full. I've travel 120 miles to games in heavy snow with no problem and I'll do it again; however only idiots travel on 1/4" of ice. Maybe it wasn't a big problem in the Wichita city limits; however I'm telling you it was a major issue for anyone living north, west and south of Wichita. I'm willing to give the fans a mulligan for Wednesday night. Oh, and we do have our fare share of elderly fans... and many of them stayed home.

    :banghead:

Depends [no pun intended] on where you draw the line as "elderly". I was there Wednesday, ice and all.

It was a BIG problem in the Wichita City Limits. I was very suprised so many people did show up. I felt like my life was in danger the whole drive over but I am not that old and I wasn't going to miss that game.

I was very impressed with the blue hairs who did show up.

If their is no electricity in the arena I will quit attending games. I can put up with a lot but I'm not going to watch games in the dark.

There was probably 8,500 at the game Wenesday. seemed like the student section was sparse considering school is bac in session. Crowd was a little subdued which is to be expected when we are behind the first 30 minutes of the game. Sometimes I hope we get behind by 6 to 8 points in a a game because the Chuck really roars during a comeback, i.e. the legendary Iowa game, Florida State NIT game, MSU game a few weeks ago. Unfortunately every time the crowd got into the game Wednesday, UNI was able to silence the crowd with a basket.

The student section CAN'T generate any electricity because they have their minds buried in their electronic devices sending tweets, texts and reading their email. If you don't believe me, LOOK at them. Sometimes, theres more electricity coming out of the old geezer sections than there is out of the student section.

It was also the second day of classes so that takes out some of the student section. I know a lot of people who normally go to games but couldn't because of class.

Man these students are too good. When I was a WSU student we used to cut class if it conflicted with a game. We had our priorities.

                      BS. Total BS.

Let me guess, you are one of the old geezers.

The problem with the "electricity" at the Chuck isn't the student section. They do their job and they do it quite well. It's the rest of the place that just sits there and does next to nothing. Most of the time the only audible cheers I'll hear are for the dance cam or booing a call from one of the refs. Seriously, sometimes I think the fans just go to the games to boo the officiating instead of cheering on the team.

On another note, the last game I went to someone was actually griping about having to stand for defense.

                        And people blame the students.....

I wouldn't call it total BS...BTW, isn't the student section being led by a couple of fellas who could be considered "old geezers"?

I guess the electricity actually did go off during the shoot around according to Kennedy.

I'd like to give props to whoever is controlling the graphics. The MTXE + Noise level is a good combination, but it seems like no matter what is done, the crowd doesn't want to keep going once the TO is over.
