Our guys are pissed right now.

If we don't, we lose, and the absolute only thing that will matter, 100%, is The Lou.

        Shox - 82

        Trees - 65
        Agreed 100%.

If this team has legit post season aspirations, they start tomorrow night. They not only need to win, but do it convincingly.

Anything less than a double digit win will help overflow the low confidence bowl and send Fever into a Three Mile Island meltdown mode.

        That is all. 8)
If I'm the only one that melts down after our third consecutive home loss, then I question everyone else's sanity.

We have bittern the injury bug a bit. I hope the guys will thrive on adreniline and pure energy and the knowingness that their entire season will be flushed down the drain with any more missed opportunities. I hope they realize some of them are down to their last year ever to make a run at the NCAA's, some down to a couple years, and so on.

The time for moaning around and pissing away opportunities is OVER.

        WSU - 76
        INSU - 64
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

Add to this that JT is doubtful, forcing Blair (back) and Stutz (knee) into a lot of minutes, plus, without them or Ellis getting into foul trouble, could be very challenging. Indiana St is a team that's going to play a lot like UNI in that they are a small team with basically 1 big. Their top 5 players are all between 6'2" and 6'6". Can Ellis and Blair chase Kelly or smaller? Can Hatch run around the half court and stay with his man? What did we learn in a few days playing against a basically 4 guard team? Add to this, our offensive advantage inside loses a lot without Durley.

Don't expect our depth to be an advantage this game. The Trees are use to playing two players short and now, have them back. They'll probably go 10 players deep as well. Oh wait....we're only 9 deep now. This game could provide some interesting player match-ups to see who forces who to do what.
This seems to be the most sensible post of this thread. This game could go either way, especially with Durley being out. I think we will win, but not by much.

I predict that if we lose this game the negativity in these threads will put the Slime river in Ghostbusters II to shame.

                Shocks 72-62.

Reading about Indiana St's strengths in today's paper (driving and passing to open shooters who shoot it VERY well) doesn't make me feel much more confident. I think and hope we win, but it's not gonna be easy. Like someone said, if we play defense like we did against UNI we probably lose by 20.

You are right, and that negativity would be very VERY well deserved. Anyone who would still be positive if the Shox lose today would have some serious mental problems IMHO.

Fair enough. If they lose today they need to look to St. Louis. Are you one who woluld give up on the season or hope for success in March?

Just a few games ago, I was pretty confident we would lose no more than one of our home conference games, if any at all, and no more than three road games.

Today, I have no idea which Shocker team is going to show up against decent competiion. The one we are most familiar with that falls behind early and then pulls it out in the second half, or the one that falls behind early and doesn't pull it out.

We should get a pretty good idea of what this team is made of today. Hopefully, they will get back on the winning track, overcome this stretch of diversity, and go forward. There is still time to pull this season out, but it needs to start, and it needs to start now.

Perhaps, like we Shocker fans, they just need to look at the next game at hand.

I think we are of the same mind. Yes they should look to the next game. Teams that finish really hot at least get a look from the committee. I wouldn't rule out that possibility. However, if they loose today it becomes a very steep mountain.

Somebody on here concluded that each game from now on becomes our biggest game of the Season thus-far. Since our beloved Shocks have dug a hole and created a big rut by losing 2 unforseen games in a row at 21st and Hillside, this forecast could be conclusive from now throughout and including the entire LewDew conclusion. There is nothing much worse than digging your own hole and then later falling in it. Tonight will tell us much about how good we are while facing adversity.

Before the Season began, I predicted the Shocks to win the Valley, lose only 1 Valley game at home sweet home, and lose 4 over-all games in Valley play. The 2nd of those 3 prognostications is already a dud. Also, the winner of the Valley could most likey lose only 3 Valley games it appears. Mo State seems to have the favorable schedule remaining with some huge road wins in their rear view mirror. Even so, have the Bears peaked too early and soon to become ripe for some unexpected upsets? Hmmmm. Stranger things have happened in this Valley of Death and I could dig on that scenerio. After all, we will pay them a bold visit to see what is shakin and bakin. The Bears had fun under the bright lights at our expense and this nonsense leaves us with a bone in our crawl to pick with them in Springfield.

Tonight, our Shocks have a chance to stop a home losing skid that was not on our docket of wants and needs. I want to see us playing with extreme execution and focus for as close to 40 minutes that we can sustain. This buswax of sputtering out of the blocks with 2-4 turnovers needs to stop, as of tonight. Chop some wood tonight Shocks. We all know 'you/we' can do it. See you all soon and let's get back on the winning one game at a time fast-track!!!!!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
