  • WSU VERSUS INDIANA STATE PREDICTIONS AND PREGAME DISCUSSIONS

Here's the deal. Many of our beloved Shocks toughest Valley games are yet to come. Before the Valley started, nobody on here would pick the trees to win here Sat. Even so, they are on a roll and finding ways to win. Here is what I truly think. The Shocks will Not lose 3 games in a row here. Thus, the trees may be hot, but now the Shocks will get back on task and win a tough fought game.

    SHOX 73

    STIX--65
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Indy St. is hot right now, and WSU isn't. I hope that they can pull out a victory over the trees, but I have my doubts.

WSU was hot last night. UNI was just hotter.

        You have a point.

Indiana State is "hot" at home, after they got lucky in the closing seconds twice in a row.

WSU has lost two games at home by a combined 6 points and is 2-1 in their last 3 games. It's disappointing for sure, but we're not too far off from being perfect.

        How's that for negativity?
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

I'd feel a lot more comfortable about this team if they had somebody that could stop penetration from the other teams guards. Defensively this team seems to be lacking something. It doesn't matter if we can score, we have to be able to defend. I hope that the Shox get off to a fast start in this one and are able to get the W. They are still a good team, they just aren't as good as they need to be.

I'll be there, like always, pulling for a shocker victory. That is about all I can say. I shouldn't feel this concerned headed into a HOME game...but I am. Here is to hoping for a Shocker win!

Indy State has proven nothing on the road. If the Shox want to right the ship and want to win this conference and dance than they better come out and take care of business. ISU thinks they can play with us and confidence can help a team, but it shouldn't matter as we should come out pissed and take it to them. If we don't, we lose, and the absolute only thing that will matter, 100%, is The Lou.

The Trees are in for a beat down. I expect our third string to be in the game with minutes left.

I don't want to hear any crap when Missouri State loses Saturday night and we are tied for first in the conference!

Our guys are pissed right now.

                  Agreed 100%.

If this team has legit post season aspirations, they start tomorrow night. They not only need to win, but do it convincingly.

Anything less than a double digit win will help overflow the low confidence bowl and send Fever into a Three Mile Island meltdown mode.

                  That is all. 8)

That would be ideal, but MSU and WSU are the hunted right now and everybody is trying mightly to bring their absolute best game to our house (e.g. UNI shooting way beyond their avg).

We _should_ be able to handle it, no doubt.

But every night's a battle so an automatic expectation for a double-digit win, might be a little over-optimistic against a team coming into our house with a point to prove and confidence from their win streak and recently beating MSU. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes down to the wire, but hopefully not.

                    I'll go just under:

                    Shox - 75
                    Trees - 66

                      Kung,
It is not often we agree, but this will serve as an exception.

WSU is indeed the hunted and gets every teams best shot.

Apparently, they are having a difficult time comprehending what every teams 'best shot ' means.

It means that maximum effort, desire and dedication are required every time they step on the court.

It means means maximum hustle and execution every second of every game is mandatory.

It means every team, regardless of their record, views beating WSU as a 'season maker' and they will do anything to secure a win.

The guys worked hard to become the hunted.

But once you achieve the status, staying there becomes even harder. thing in world 8)

I hope you guys are right. I think we'll win, I'm just not so sure how convincingly. No doubt, this team's ability and potential is there to blow out ISU Blue, but the team will have to show up on both ends of the court.

Add to this that JT is doubtful, forcing Blair (back) and Stutz (knee) into a lot of minutes, plus, without them or Ellis getting into foul trouble, could be very challenging. Indiana St is a team that's going to play a lot like UNI in that they are a small team with basically 1 big. Their top 5 players are all between 6'2" and 6'6". Can Ellis and Blair chase Kelly or smaller? Can Hatch run around the half court and stay with his man? What did we learn in a few days playing against a basically 4 guard team? Add to this, our offensive advantage inside loses a lot without Durley.

Don't expect our depth to be an advantage this game. The Trees are use to playing two players short and now, have them back. They'll probably go 10 players deep as well. Oh wait....we're only 9 deep now. This game could provide some interesting player match-ups to see who forces who to do what.
