    I'm glad your math has clicked in...impressed.

    There is nothing that has been flattened. Your world does not equal reality. And as far as DK's good overall 3 pt. shooting % is good. Do you think the last 8 games is a good sampling of statistical information? In that time DK is 30% from 3...that equates to SUBSTANDARD....1.5 assists...4 of those games without a FT...SUBSTANDARD for the gifts he brings to the table.

    I think we all believe Colt Ryan is a notch below DK in many physical areas. Only 47% of his total FG attempts are 3's. One could argue he is a 3 pt. specialist, but he obviously is more creative to get his points than DK.

    I just believe DK is capable of giving this team more than what he is right now. He is settling when he could be reaching for more.

    FWIW, and in my opinion its worth a lot, Evansville runs a lot of screens, doubles and isolation plays for Colt Ryan. We do not do that very much, if at all for DK.
    That would be a coaching strategy...right? :whistle:

      And your random left-field analysis in which nobody has sided with you on is reality? :roll: :roll:

      You are really hell-bent on the percentage of 3-point shots taken. It's certainly not the above all, end all stat. You need to get over it.

      It looks really foolish to be calling out 3-point shooting with DK, after a game he went 4-for-9 from 3-pt range (really 4-of-8 if you don't count the desperation chuck at the end). Once again, like another poster here, your timing is impeccable.

      There's more people to be calling out than DAVID FREAKING KYLES after this one bucko.

      • I always feel somewhat embarrassed when WSU loses to a Drake, UE, or the Panthers. However, one must remember that for those schools, coming into Wichita and playing at CKA is the one date they circle, get psyched for, and play out of their minds.

        WSU will be ok and is still poised to win the Valley and in STL. This loss, while hard to accept, will only make it a little more interesting down towards the stretch.

          Kid - you just don't get it...and that's fine. I, unlike you, are comfortable enough in my own skin to think on my own and not be swayed by "others siding with me." When you pull that card, kid, you have lost the battle, trust me.

          I agree ratio of 3's vs. total FG's is not the end-all, but I think it is telling is all.

          I certainly don't look foolish (revert back to the skin comfort thing please). You just haven't learned in life yet that it is ok to be different and think different and being respectful about it. I have allowed you goad me into being disrespectful in our discussions in the past and present...and for that I'm sorry. I can't make absolute promises, but I will try and be more respectful.

          As for DK's 3 pt. % last night...did we win the game? He is still only a 30% shooter in the last 8 games. As one of the leaders of this team, he has to use his gifts better.

          Your right, there are others to be called out. Murry is at the top of the list...also very disappointed in his performance lately. Marshall gets votes as well. He, clearly, got out coached and missed the boat on adjustments...especially defensive.

          I hope it gets turned around quick...no rest for the weary with Indy St. coming into the Chuck on Saturday.

              Newb, I am thinking perfectly on my own. There definitely is no swaying with your argument. Nobody there. Not a good sign.

              You mean the same card you've pulled before? If it works, you use it. When you're getting blown out of the park, now you have to keep it in your pocket. You're perfecting the art of hypocrisy quite well.

              You have looked foolish in saying that DK is a one-dimensional player. That is simply not true. You have not proved it in any of your "analysis" and in fact have been disproven by others. I absolutely love the fact that you are playing Mr. Innocent on this one. Don't make me go post-digging.

              No we didn't. And you're pinning this one on him for shooting 50% from the 3-pt range? He's a 30% shooter in our last 8 and yet we are 6-2. Which is it?

              Is he a leader? What about others being leaders? Has he claimed to be "the leader"?

              Ok, then why don't you begin 5-paragraph essays on Murry and Marshall like you did Kyles? Kyles is the last one you should be dedicating 5-paragraph essays on for not "bringing it". Practice what you preach. Let's hear it since you have already dissected Kyles up like a frog in a high school biology class.

                  Kid - It's so ironic, and quite funny acually, how worked up you get.

                  The funny thing is you are so interested in being clever and condescending (and before you bust another artery, I have done the same at times, which I appologize for), that you haven't delt with the issue I brought up. If you would just calm down and give me something to work with I might even agree...who knows...just sayin. :D

                      • My thoughts on Kyles and his "gifts":

                        The scouting report on David prior to this year is that he's a slasher. Coaches don't just forget that becuase his outside shooting arrived this year. So teams are defending against that. There is a reason why he's had so many open threes. Sure, he's missed a few, but defenders respect his slashing ability.

                        We also have an offensive system that doesn't leave a lot of lanes to the basket open for drives. That also means there is help defense waiting. He has to pick his opportunities. Remember Randy Burns and how often he got stuck on the baseline after a failed drive to the basket? We don't want David using his "gifts" like that.

                        Kyles is now a shooter (he plays SG, after all) with slashing ability. Shooters go through slumps, so "the past eight games" doesn't provide enough data for me to not trust my eyes.

                        You also have to consider the past two years and how far he has come. His shot has just now gotten to the point where he is having to re-learn how to balance his skills and athleticism with the ball in his hands. David is doing enough other things on both sides of the ball that I'm fine with how he is using his gifts to help the team.

                          Hey young man - I am still waiting for you to respond to tell me why I need to change my thinking about:

                          * 70% 3's
                          * 30% the last 8 games
                          * 1.5 assists - because you don't typically record alot of assists when your camping at the 3 line
                          * Hardly any presence at the FT line - again, when you are chucking up 3's one typically doesn't get to the line, which he is very adequate of making some

                          No qualms defensively.

                          I just think he is better than all of this. :wsu_posters:

                                Bingo. If the arguments can stay on facts and topics fine. If not, take your personal snips to PM, or I will need to lock the thread. And believe me, there is plenty of on-court material and stats to chew on and debate. And it is also OK to simply say I disagree or I think your opinion is wrong, and then go into the facts as to why.

                                And children, it really is OK to not get the last word in, just as it really is OK to agree to disagree (he said in his calmest teacher voice).
