The Crowne Plaza is about a 15 minute walk to the arena, but it is only a one block walk to the train stop that will drop you off right across the street from the main (south) entrance. Very convenient and worth the $1.50 each way.

Don't get me wrong, I love going to St. Louis and I think the Scottrade (Savvis, or whatever they're calling it this year) is a great place to hold the event. It's within walking distance of Union Station and a short train ride away from LaClede's landing.

That said, I think it is unfair to two of the MVC's largest fan bases. Us and Creighton. Both schools consistently bring more fans than all but SIU and MSU and those two schools are like 30 minutes away from St Louis. KC is a great city, the Sprint center is a sparkling venue, and it's at least 4 hours closer for us and Creighton and the distance is a wash for the other schools besides ISU and BU. The least they could do is rotate it between KC and St. Louis every other year. I don't like to complain too much about Elgin but he dropped the ball on this one. AND totally mishandled 1.9 Gate.
Umm...no. Mo St is actually closer to Kansas City.
And so is UNI and Drake.

But you are right, AndShock, about WSU/CU traveling well no matter where you have it.

The MVC is merely pandering to eastern schools, most of who, wouldn't show up if the tourney wasn't in there backyard.

Thank you for helping prove my point, albeit in a douchey way. I'm sure the extra 28 minutes makes a difference for bears fans.

Anyhow, that's 5 schools that would probably love to see the tourney moved to KC on an alternating basis. CU and WSU travel to the tourney better than any team in the leauge except SIU but they have one of the shortest distances to St. Louis.

But I'm beating a dead horse because we're locked in to St. Louis for another 3 or 4 years if I remember correctly.

Really! Next time I'll be more direct and to the point and not so brainless.

Not 30 minutes away from St. Louis, but 7 times farther away than that, 3 Hr 26 m.
