  • What a great basketball game.

Tulsa shoots 14-27 from 3-pt range.. basically the game of their lives, and they still lose. That hast to Hurrrrrtttttttt.

Considering we withstood another "Game of their lives" from the opponent, I'm quite happy we held on. We played a pretty good brand of ball on offense. In the second half, our D picked up a bit. Hurtt and the other guy were just stroking it like they were in the League. You can't stop some of that. They were burying contested shots.

Great atmosphere. We need a game or two a year there. Great environment for a big time college basketball.

Props to all for making it loud in the second half.

    Garrett Stutz???!! WOW.

    Aaron Ellis????! WOW.

    Ben Smith lookin' good.

    And DK. Wow. Stud Central.

            • Agree with the above comments. we won two games now from decent teams that saw WSU as a target. Its two lessons that if we've already had them would have won the UCONN game. And two solid efforts that should be good experience for the Valley. The Shox are on the way up.

                  Ellis was awesome tonight.

So was Ben Smith, he has to see the floor more....even if that means Hatch sees it less.

                  • FWIW We did such an excellent job on ball screens tonight with Big to Little Screens.

Our Little to Little Ball Screen/handoff defense was poor though.

I've only read a few posts, but this one deserves a quote. Yes, it was nice.

I'm still wondering why he got so few 2nd half minutes.

                          • Garrett is on a roll. The MVC is especially void of talented big men this year...particularly the athletic kind that give Stutz fits. There is, however, no shortage of 6'8"-6'10" centers who can't jump, pivot, or move out of the paint to defend.

This could be quite the conference season if the big man keeps things straight between the ears.

Fatigue? I know he gets tired easier because he is so big. I dunno. Just speculating.

I thought he rode the bench too long in the second half.

As for Hatch, that was one of those games he didn't match up well in. He hustled but he was short on his shots and FT's and was careless with the ball at times. Of course, I wasn't a fan of Murry at times during the game either.

Either way, I'm in a agreement that we need to see a bit more of Mr. Smith.

I was wondering the same thing during the game, when we badly needed his scoring.
