That is a losing mentality...you should know better. The most important game of the year is Friday, December 10 vs. Nicholls St. March 6 is the 26th most important game of the season at this point in time. The goal is to build and grow as a team. It will take 25 more important games than March 6 to do that.

Weren't you the one who said no to koolaid drinking?

Unless you think we're gonna win 22 of our next 25 games, and you think Virginia is gonna take the ACC by storm, I stand by my statement.
You know what Fev...I might have to consider the words I wrote in this and other threads, because there might be some truth in that. I would ask you to look at your statement again however. You point to one game...26 games into the future. Don't you think that is a little over the top. I mean don't you think there is some validity to the thought of building and growing leading up to March 6. You might be correct in that we go 12-6 in the conference and need a win on March 6 to go dancing. However, we all know the Valley is way down this year. Not only on paper, but on the court this year, we are clearly the team to beat. Going on that assumption, it is my belief if we win 14 or 15 games in the league and get to the March 6 and lose, I still say we are an at-large team. It is just my opinion. I am nobody special, just someone with a passionate opinion. I have said in other posts that is won't be easy to do what I have outlined. So if that is drinking koolaid in your opinion, than poor me another please.

I think a lot of posters on here confuse their sports-playing days with the reality of what a poster on an internet forum is.

So yes, for the players the most important game is the next one, and give it 110% and blah blah blow, but for the rest of us looking at the schedule, the most important game left in terms of the Shockers' chances of going to the NCAA tournament is the championship game at the MVC Tournament.

There's not much more resume building that can be done with the teams remaining on the calendar; at this point, our best bet is to make them take us.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Well, maybe for those looking ahead confuse the importance of their sports-playing days when one-game-at-a-time ment something. If the work isn't done in the moment and what is directly in front of them, than I doubt March 6 will even be a game on the schedule.

Not saying that Virginia is gonna take the ACC by storm but they did start out 1-0 today by beating Virginia Tech on the road. Granted, VTech is hardly a dominate team themselves...but still.

            Virginia - 57
            Virginia Tech - 54

If Nicholls State can beat them at LSU, we better watch out this Friday.

You know what, if a team can not get it done in conference, and then by some miracle in St. Lous wins the tournament, do they really deserve to go the Dance, more so than the team that won the conference. I don't think so.
If we can not win the games we are suppose during conference, I seriously doubt, repeat seriously doubt, that we can win the tournament in St. Louis.
Hail Mary's are nice when they happen, but hardly ever happen.

And quite frankly, our team played better in Maui for 3 straight days, than our teams usually play for 3 straight games, especially on the road.

If that scenario happened, I firmly believe that team deserves to go. It's the way the format is set up and every team is playing with the same hand at the same table. It is more deserving than programs in BCS conferences who make the Dance with sub .500 conference records. Anytime I see that, it infuriates me to the highest level that just because they are in a BCS conference they can get away with this. No reason whatsoever a team should get an at large with a sub .500 conference record.

Let's just take the rest of the season off. Something tells me that Creighton, Northern Iowa and in past years SIU didn't sit around whining about crap like this. They just went out and won the conference and/or the tourney and then went to the dance.

But Shocker fans have to over-analyze every action in the world, looking for a slight, an insult, a bad guy to blame for our shortcomings... the refs, the BCS, the selection committee, Jay Bilas...

If you can believe, you can achieve; if you can't, you won't.

What time is the coaches show.. I need to listen to someone who has been there more than we have....
