Maybe because they are one of the best programs in the NCAA -- or it could be that 90% of their home nonconference games are complete cupcakes -- or a combination of the two -- or because they are one of the best programs in the NCAA.

A foul is a foul no matter what time of the game.
        False.
Fouls are prohibited during the last 5 seconds of the game? Really?

KU got lucky there. UCLA did make a boneheaded play. Agreed with RH. He wasn't gonna make that desperation shot.
Ok. "A foul is a foul no matter what time of the game" and 1 + 1 = 2

The question is should a foul be called when there is .7 seconds left, two players are going for a lose ball, and the foul that could be called is not egregious?

Refs use discretion throughout the game biased on numerous in game factors. I don't think it is too much to ask that the game not be decided on a call that IMO is suspect. My post was mostly in response to the fact that the announcer kept saying it was a good call. Sure, if you are a Jayhawk...

Another forum I am on said that there is an endzone shot that shows it is clearly a foul. I have not seen that clip, and I hate the beakers and their fans, but that kinda made sense to me.

I didn't see it live but after seeing it numerous times now, that's just not a call that's made in today's Division I game.

Sure there was contact but 99.9% of DI officials aren't going to make that call. That's just the way it is....and it was a loose ball.

Horrible decision, and I really don't care either way. I hate both programs so unless he was going to blow his whistle and penalize either school for any of their blatant cheating offenses, I couldn't care less what the call was...I just think someone was ready to chase coeds at The Wheel.

KU was very very very fortunate. I'm not happy with the KU home schedule and until the Jayhawks start playing better and hungrier competition for their OoC schedule, they will trip up more often than not once they get to The Dance.

They have a very good team and a great program, but their scheduling stinks!
