  • St. Mary's vs SDSU tomorrow

I'm hoping that SDSU can get by St. Mary's tomorrow night but I'm not so sure that they will.

St. Mary's just beat Texas Tech at Texas by 20 points and just lost to BYU at BYU on a last minute bucket.

At least SDSU has them at home.

St. Mary's did just squeak by our upcoming opponent, Chicago State.

    Final score: 121-52

As a note: Their bench played 42% of the minutes, but had 48% of the points. For the season, incuding that game, they've played 34% of the minutes and scored 41% of the points.

I'd like to see that kind of production from our depth.

Absolutely! How deep do they go?

I don't know how deep St. Mary's is, however SDSU doesn't appear to be overly deep. They have 2 players that log over 30 minutes; 4 more between 22-25. Another player at 15, with 1 more at 12. Four of their six wins have been by 15 or more points, which one would like to think about developing depth.

What is impressive about the A-techs is their ability to make shots. As a team they shoot 53% FG/39% 3FG. Their guards shoot lights out. D.J Gay (6-0) makes 51% overall, and is 11-24 from 3. Chase Tapley (6-2) hits 60% overall, but is only 3-12 from 3. 6th man James Rahon (6-5) hits at a 58% clip and is 11-19 from 3. We have to make them work hard for shots. They appear to shoot alot off the dribble, as they have 85 assists on 186 made FG's (45%), while the Shockers assist on 68% off FG's made.

We have to control leading scorer Kawhi Leonard (6-7, 3G). He averages 18 ppg/10 rpg, occassionally shoots the 3 (6-16). Let's sic the Navy Seal on him. Billy White (6-8, F) averages 11/5, while shooting 67% from the field. Malcolm Thomas (6-8, F) completes the starting lineup averaging 8/6, shooting 51% from the field.

After that, it gets pretty slim in regard to contribution. Our depth is much more significant and will be the reason we succeed and win.

Just looking @ the box & this game sure licks winable for WSU. SDSU doesn't look very deep. They are undefeated but biggest win was against Gonzaga. Just by looking at the schedule & St. Mary's box I think WSU wins by 7.

What is it about winning at Gonzaga as someone's best win and beating a good St. Mary's team by 14 that gives you a great deal of confidence?

LMAO! Ok fella, if the Shox win I will put a bullzeye on my ass and you can wind up and throw a basketball at it in the parking lot at the next home game.

By the way, were you drinking when you posted this?

I recollect not drinking until after the post. I should've paid more attention to the spell check. Not sure what I typed to get lick from the intended look. At a glance, I like WSU's chances. I also think it is wise to decline any and all involvement with an ass that belongs to a member of this forum.
