If we agree to bring back football I think the WAC would jump at taking us. It would probably not be that much of a downer basketball wise and I would expect us to dominate in that sport. I can't say I'm excited about it.

La. Tech and NMSU aren't horrible. Forgot them. Not sure how strong that would make it though.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

IMHO:
The MVC with tougher scheduling requirements > MWC > CUSA > MVC without scheduling mandate.
There needs to be a commitment from the bottom valley schools to toughen up their scheduling, since the case study is out there that it's in the conferences best interest to do so. If they refuse, I would like to see us entertain our options for joining other leagues. Hopefully if a move were made, Bradley and Creighton would join us. At the very least, an alliance with those valley teams that are committed to strong programs can threaten to leave the league as leverage to get the scrubs of the league to pull their head out of their butts.

And exactly what conference should WSU move to?
The WAC sucks big green donkey dongs; that would be a terrible move.

I would agree now he wouldn't be a viable choice since he's to old and doesn't even have enough energy to even keep the baseball program on top of the MVC.

I think even some of his baseball mgt. judgment should be questioned, given the money spent on a stadium that is too big.
What has he done to demonstrate he would be a good administrator?

Shockers have won 6 conference championships and 7 conference tournaments since 2000.

Wichita State
Bradley
Creighton
Xavier
Butler
ORU
St. Louis
Dayton
There is 8 right there, with solid basketball programs/cities/fanbases to facilitate a good conference. Am I wrong somewhere? I may be because I am just doing this off the top of my head. Maybe MSU or ISU red would still join and keep their 1-AA football in another conference.
Just brainstorming..

A number of teams in the FCS play in football only type leagues. Even Temple from the A-10 plays football in the Mid-American. I'd add Valley teams Mo St and Ill St to the above list.

As for those schools joining the debunked Big East schools without football, perhaps that is true, depending on the number of schools ect.Goo Shockers
