Are there any non-conference games set for the next few years beyond Tulsa and UMKC?

How long is the MVC-Mountain West series?

It seems the WSU administration needs to think about one or two neutral games against BCS opponents, if they can get it scheduled.

I think Turgeon was close to playing Oklahoma State in OKC, for example.

We could play Texas Tech or Baylor in Dallas; Missouri or Iowa State in Kansas City etc.

Clearly getting some of those teams to Koch Arena is the goal, but that seems to be tougher and tougher.

I do believe we will see either or both KU and KSU on the schedule sometime soon, probably IBA and their campus arenas, unfortunately.

Baylor would be a good game.

I know people do not like Scott Drew on here but it would be an excellent game.

Isn't this the last year for UMKC? I know Marshall said a decision for continuing it hasn't been made.

I know, but we need even more BCS match-ups, closer to home.

Gonzaga's model seems to work. They played a lot of neutral site games against good opponents.

Would like to continue a home-and-home with UMKC, ditto one of the Tulsa teams, one of the Houston teams, and one of the Arkansas teams.

I don't know how often we can continue to play in these events every year, but they are my strong preference versus playing one and done or neutral court single games with the BCS. There are those BCS teams that have done home and home with us or similar schools. Even two neutral, reasonable sites would be fine. I'm much less interested in doing one and dones or 2 for 1 with BSC schools than I use to be. Maybe it's OSU's President Glee and his big mouth. It's one thing to know they're arrogant, it's quite another to listen to them blabber about it from their ivory towers.

I'd also like to see 2 home and homes with quality mid majors (or just one if we find a BSC team), say 150 RPI and above, on alternating years to rid us of 2 sub 250 RPI teams.

Don't forget that next year we get San Diego State at home and Utah State at home. That will help next year's schedule considerably.

No. The MWC/MVC game is determined on a year to year basis. You'll get a return game, but not necessarily with SDSU.

Don't they match up MVC 1 vs. MWC 1? If we both win conferences this year wouldn't we get SDSU again? I am sure there are finer details than that but thats what I remember.

The project who will finish where and try to schedule accordingly. However, they're not going to matchup the same two teams in back to back years.

The best two teams the Shockers could add, if it were possible, are KU and K-State. Those games would probably be on ESPN or ESPN 2. Media coverage goes along ways. It's one reason Gonzaga is no longer a mid-major.

If I still lived in Kansas I would talk to my representatives in Topeka. A bill being passed might not even be necessary. Maybe at least one of the schools would feel enough pressure to schedule a series.

Georgetown was man enough this year to play Old Dominion and Temple on the road this year. They should be contacted about playing WSU at IBA next season. This needs to be accomplished now, before Perry Ellis drops them from his list. :D

See, that's what I don't understand. Similar mid majors are getting BCS teams inside their arenas. It just doesn't make sense that we can't do that. No, it doesn't have to be freaking KU and at this point, I'd take a damn 2 for 1 with the more obvious ones.
