    Classic makings of a trap game.

    -Shockers feeling pretty good about themselves after Maui;
    -Won't get home until Saturday (mixed feelings about this);
    -UMKC always seems to play better against us than they are and they are coming off an 18 point home win;
    -San Diego State looming on the horizon, giving us something else to think about;

    I think in the long run our talent and depth will win out, but I would not be surprised to see some ugly basketball Monday night.

    Thoughts?

      Well, enough of the players that were on the team from 3 years ago that got whipped up in a KC remember what that felt like. There's no way JT, Toure, Garrett, David, Aaron, etc. will permit that to happen again--not on our home court.

        I think the concerns for a trap are too obvious to sneak up on anybody. The trap will come once a comfort level is established.

          My thoughts (and thanks for asking)...HCGM will not let that happen on his watch, especially after the slow start vs. Ralph Sampson.

            Yes it was. We're still going to clobber them. There is way to much talent for UMKC to handle.

                  This would be a good game for EO to get some good minutes. Once we establish a lead, put him in to swat away every shot that comes in the lane. Looking at their roster, they really have very little height. Their tallest guy is 6'9".

                    ...oh, and Reggie is playing for them now after sitting last year out. I wonder if that will mean anything?

                      Alot of pounding the ball just past the timeline? Ill clap for the guy. Tough break his last action on the court here ended up on a stretcher in the Stanford game.

                        Yea...it means our perimeter pressure will render him to be a non-factor. Le's face it, small, non-athletic, non-quick quards who can only shoot a set shot in today's college game are only good for keeping the ball moving around the horn. Great kid though!!!

                          This isn't a "trap game". If you lose to UMKC you have big, big, problems. Lets up the expectations a bit people.
