Just checking in to ShockerNet for the first time since march, can't seem to get Admin to give me my own account.

My Opinion on the UCONN game: We got screwed by the refs.
Chaminade: We beat a really good d2 school.
Virginia: Good comeback from 16 points down to get a good win over an ACC school.

I watched the UConn game on tape tonight. The officiating was MUCH worse than I had even originally thought. :-x But, all in all, the Shockers looked pretty good during this tournament. Once the PG situation is completely settled LOOK OUT!

I voted for 2 weeks but there is a lot of luck involved in who who will play. You never can tell.

          I voted for "Not"

There just aren't that many chances remaining and I'm not confident of a W over SDSU on the road.

The way the Valley is looking this year 18-0 might not be enough to get any respect.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

The key is to get past SDSU on Dec 4, one week from Saturday. IF they can do that, they are in. But from what I've heard, SDSU is the goods, for real, just like WSU is the goods, for real.

It should be a great game. But as somebody else said the real key is to stay away from bad losses. That's what killed us last year.

Depends a lot on what UConn does going forward also.

You mean what Walker does going forward.

No vote here, but IF we were to ever break into the Top 25, it won't be until after the Bracket Busters game (do we have one this year?). If we do, then if we play and win that game, have a win against the Aztecs and no bad losses in the MVC then perhaps 23-25 is a possibility.

Your giving the media too much credit. If we win out in the Non Con which is very possible we will easily be in the Top 25.

Agreed. If you're getting votes and keep winning, enough teams above you will lose that you will rise. It's just how the polls work.

I voted 3 weeks, and depending on whether we beat SDSU or not. They are very good, and we are not too good at making ingame adjustments when someone has a plan to stop our offense. (Our lack of getting the ball inside in the UConn game).

Quite frankly, it did not look like we could recover from the Virginia lead at first, but we did, and that was the most grit our team has showed so far this season. Hatch is not shooting as much this year, and his shot seems to have been just a little off. I understand that Rags is looking to assist a bucket first, but we also need his shot, and he does have the stats to back it up.

I want to see the defense tighten up and be tougher. We definately have the talent, but we need to play to our strengths and be tough on defense.

In all fairness our offense looked as good as #2 Michigan State's and better than #8 Kentucky's offense did against UConn -- without the benefit of having any games of substance to review prior to the game, which both Mich. St. and Kentucky did.

But I completely agreed with your 3 weeks/good showing at SDSU being critical to having a high ranking.

This is one of the better examples of your negatie Nancy, weird-as-schmidt perspective on all things relating to Shocker athletics.

You've given us tons of them over the years, but this one is up there.
