RIP, Coach. Blue Aces and Shockers everywhere will remember how you helped put WSU basketball on the map. Thanks for all the young men you influenced.

At Ballard’s Sporting Goods in Aggieville, this season’s popular purple T-Shirt with the “Welcome to Huggieville” greeting had already been replaced with a newer line known as “Welcome to Traitorville.” “Welcome Back to Loserville” might be a more appropriate selection. - msnbc 4/7/07

I wish I had been alive to see that team and Mr. Thompson coach. Ralph Miller, that team and Mr. Thompson were the foundation of the tradition of excellence the men's basketball program at WSU continues to be built upon, and without them and their accomplishments it's history would be far, far less rich.

        RIP

If only Stallworth and Bowman had played that whole 64-65 season.. :( 'Shockers would have brought home the big one, no question.

          RIP Coach Thompson

The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Aargh's post is insulting and proposterous. What about such stars as Greg Carney, Terry Benton, Ron Harris, Vince Smith?? That post should be deleted and some form of disciplinary action taken against Aargh

Aargh, with all due respect to your previous contributions to this board, you've crossed the line with your GT post.

Particularly because of the nature of this thread.

                  RIP Coach.

The truth is what it is, but it might have been better to have been posted in another thread rather than this one.

I watched Gary play three years of HS ball and four years at WU.

He was remarkable in every way and a fighter to the end. You can ask a lot of a man, but never more if he gives his all.

No doubt in my mind he has everything to be proud of and most certainly that of being a Shocker.
