RIP, Coach. Blue Aces and Shockers everywhere will remember how you helped put WSU basketball on the map. Thanks for all the young men you influenced.
:posterwu:At Ballard’s Sporting Goods in Aggieville, this season’s popular purple T-Shirt with the “Welcome to Huggieville” greeting had already been replaced with a newer line known as “Welcome to Traitorville.” “Welcome Back to Loserville” might be a more appropriate selection. - msnbc 4/7/07

I wish I had been alive to see that team and Mr. Thompson coach. Ralph Miller, that team and Mr. Thompson were the foundation of the tradition of excellence the men's basketball program at WSU continues to be built upon, and without them and their accomplishments it's history would be far, far less rich.

I watched Gary play three years of HS ball and four years at WU.
He was remarkable in every way and a fighter to the end. You can ask a lot of a man, but never more if he gives his all.
No doubt in my mind he has everything to be proud of and most certainly that of being a Shocker.
