Marshall made seven trips to NCAA at Winthrop. He has now loaded WSU with premier talent and it’s time to take the next step. Creighton has dramatically different style change under McDermott; UNI still very good but lost a lot and the Salukis are going through a makeover but haven’t been very good lately anyway. So WSU is odds-on favorite to win the Valley. In order for the Valley to get multiple bids there has to be some quality nonconference wins. Shockers can do that in Maui against UConn and maybe even Michigan State, and with playing San Diego State later. Wouldn’t hurt is WSU would win the Valley by dominating and then someone else win in St. Louis. “But regardless, the talent is in place at WSU, led by Toure’ Murry and J. T. Durley. There is no excuse for this team not to win the conference.”

I see somebody else thinks we have a chance against the Spartans.

This is stock WSU/MVC preview #1A.

My assumption is this article was not geared toward shocker fans as much as it was towards people across the country that don't spend time here at SN. And for that I am thankful for any good pub.
