This + the explosiveness in the agility drills + progress in the weight room is very inspiring. We're looking at quite a year. The noise in Koch Arena should be nothing but deafening.

So, if this where we cue our own version of Bob Seger's: "Like a Rock"?

      "Ehimen, like a rock..."

Any news on Hamilton? Will we see the freak, an injured Shocker or something in between?

Twisted ankle, word tonight is that he won't play tomorrow.

Hide the women when Hatch comes out.

            Kyles is HUGE.

He mentioned AE in the same breath as the other 4 men, I took that to mean he's part of the rotation.

              I'm good either way...

I'd like to know which of our guards tried to take it to Orukpe.

I'm pretty confident our guards have better basketball IQ than to think they can take it to Orukpe, but I'd like to know which of them had the cajones to try it to see what happened.

I doubt they will try it again.

It's good to hear that Orukpe has learned how to avoid the foul in that situation.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Yes, but have Valley refs learned not to call it a foul?

FSF concurs with the Shocker excitement and I will be there with bells on. I predict the Shocks will win tomorrow night, but I always do that. It is a 'bright spot' to hear Coach Marshall compliment the "hard work" by the Shocks during the summer. Thus, they understand that opportunity is knocking this Season, we will have targets on our backs, much is expected, and now it is Shocker time. :poster_jt: :poster_toure: :poster_eo:
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Kyles is huge?! I like that! His athleticism seemed a little off balance in years past due to his slender build. If he has the size to initiate the contact and finish, that will really up his value as a "maker."

If Hatch, Kyles, Murray, Williams can combine for 37% + from 3 land...

I'm pumped for tonight! If I were to construct a team that was poised for a big season, this would be it! Someone will have to step up and be THE GUY! You know, the guy that comes out and gets double teamed and still puts up 15 points! We have several candidates, and maybe that's how we do it, with a half-dozen guys that are unstoppable one-on-one. I still want that one guy that we go to every time we need a basket, whether it be Murray, Durley, Stutz, Ragaland or someone else.

That's it! I've decided we are headed to the sweet 16 and beyond!

I don't get the AE redshirt take. I know what a terrific young man AE is, but for crying out loud why would we redshirt a senior with so little upside as it relates to skills on the floor. He can't shoot; he can only defend on the perimiter; he can get to a few rebounds. Becuase he has been in the program going on his fourth year, yes he will provide some leadership. AE needs to utilize his four years and go be the outstanding young man we all know he is out in the real world. The Shockers need his scholarship to continue the trend towards better players...period!!!

That may be the best case for everyone, but I can also see where the 2011-12 team could really miss someone with exactly that type of skill set! I find it unlikely that we grab a 6-9 top 50 PF with our last scholarship. Not that Ellis is, but a top 120 freshman will likely not produce the way Ellis might in 11-12.

I would MUCH rather have four years of a top 120 player than one extra year of Ellis. Minus a signing like that I think a redshirt year for Aaron might help him realize his upside. He has all the tools and just needs to get his mind right as it relates basketball.

As RDR might say, Ellis' problem is between his ears.
