You owe me $.02...just kidding. It is still a TERRIBLE idea. Durley is 2 inches shorter than AE...who would you want at the 4? Remember how squirrelly Durley was as a freshman & sophomore? Many thought he would be a non-factor. "How do we like him now?" I don't know how Hamilton will pan out, but the talk I hear is that he is a remarkable athlete, who plays above the rim. I will take my chances on him next year vs. WASTING a RS on AE. My guess is HCGM will look long and hard at the early practices and the exhibition(s) to see if Hamilton's upside as a R-freshman is worthy of AE's minutes. :goshocks:
You must remember that Durley is about 2 inches taller and about 20-25 pounds heavier than Hamilton. And JT is a force to be reckon with down low when he is into the game and wants to play. Maybe JH will get that kind of attitude and progress enough to be a solid 4, I don't know.

You technically can't waste a redshirt year. Either Ellis stays for 2 years to provide some leadership and mentoring with more minutes next year or you get him out of here and a JUCO starts instead. I would rather take the first option, but it is ultimately up to Ellis and the input from Marshall. After all, he is a senior and should have some say in this.
Duley might have some weight on Hamilton, but Hamilton is ripped, he is a physical specimen with a lot of athletic ablitity. What he lacks in height and weight he makes up for in jumping ability and strength.
And a motor. Unless he's lost that since I've seen him go. He was non-stop and out hustling everyone around him when I've seen him in action. He will rebound and finish around the basket.

I know we all would prefer bigger PFs, but being shorter doesn't make you less effective if you have other things working for you.

Example...Eric Coleman at UNI...that guy was only anbout 6'6" but he had a motor! I hated that guy when he played against us but would have loved to have him on our squad.

Even from our own recent experience, Clemente and Martin were both very valuable pieces to some good teams and rebounded well. Both were hustle players who played bigger than they were.

Isn't Charles Barkley only about 6'4" in reality?

And that one is probably saved in hopes that PE decides to commit.

Perry Ellis is not in the Class of 2011.

We have 5 waiting for next '12 when he'd be available.

I believe we're hoping for either Nickerson or Miles to take our last 'ship.

                      Ellis

Considering that Ellis is a year away, I certainly hope shock isn't holding his breath. Can you imagine the coroner's report on that one?
