    Very true.

Just because every player is not gonna be throwing in 20 minutes/game when they step on campus, doesn't mean they are a waste of space. Tell that to Nick Rogers or Cameron Ledford or better yet, Coach Marshall (the guy handing out the schollies)..

    ... No really, deuces.

TRich has looked like a great SG on offense. He seems to have a gret touch from 3. He's on the young end for his class. A year of maturity is a great help for him. It makes him just on the "older" end for his class. He's got Murry and Kyles in front of him, but he can see 2 years when SG will be his spot.

I'm pretty confident he's pretty happy with his situation.

Hamilton needed a little polish and maturity in his game. His RS year gave him a year to learn and improve his game. Hamilton is a great physical guy and he can see when the 4 spot will be his. It's absolutely not going to happen this year, but next year there's going to be lots of minutes available. That's his So year.

Sitting 2 years, but having 3 years of PT is a good spot for any player.

The fact that WSU is looking like a potential top-25 team this year and a top-40 team next year makes bench time for young players (Fr) a little easier to handle.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Snap, I don't know how you keep topping yourself with some of these revelations, but somehow you manage.

So let me give you an example from a different college sport, one less familiar to the WSU campus: Alabama, the defending BCS football champ and winner of 18 games in a row, is quarterbacked by Greg McElroy who has never started a losing game in high school or college. Probably a fairly decent player, right?

Well, indeed he is. He certainly isn't Bama's best offensive player or a guy who has the NFL pounding on his door, but he's good enough that before struggling some Saturday he was leading the nation in passing efficiency. He's smart, too: a Rhodes Scholar nominee.

And yet part of the reason for his remarkable streak is also that he's spent the majority of his combined high school and college careers on the bench. Yes, despite being a good enough talent to catch the eye of Nick Saban, he didn't start in high school until his senior year, mostly because Chase Daniel, the outstanding former Missouri QB, was his teammate. When McElroy finally did take over, though, he led his team from the Dallas suburbs to a 16-0 state championship in Texas, where football championships are pretty highly prized. At Alabama, McElroy redshirted and then sat until John Parker Wilson, who was an NFL prospect, moved on -- whereupon he became the starter for a team that went 14-0 and won the BCS title. Yet he is not noted for complaining about having to wait his turn.

Talent and patience aren't mutually exclusive, especially if they're accompanied by maturity and a level head. Maybe that's true of Hamilton and Richardson as well?

Point taken, but I still would not sit for 2 years ... LOL (and I don't believe in being 2nd best, nobody remembers 2nd, only 1st).

How many days till we start basketball season????????

Well, you know, it is the offseason, which is boring boring boring, and I get random thoughts at times ... LOL

At least, I generate some discussion on this board, don't I?

IIRC Matt Cassel never started a game in college. And it's probably going to be a while before Blake Bell sees the field in Norman. I suppose his scholarship is in danger?
