For me, a good first third does not a season make. While the nine game ride was extremely fun, it also made the rest of the season a much tougher pill to swallow. To outsiders, 2006 and the first third of 2007 would appear an anomaly. When looking at SIU and CU's performance over the last 10-20 years, their current problems would appear to be the exception. You prove your worth through consistent/repeated performance.

They may have ate some crow, but they quickly washed it out of their mouth. Yup, I'm taking this to a bigger perspective. Our "today funny" was a blip over the last 20 years of MVC basketball and I take little solace in it. You want to have a good "funny" and others actually choke on some crow?? Do it with consistent scoreboard. Walk the talk. Others have. I believe we're now heading that way.

yeah. I agree. But to really do it you need to have a stable program. WSU looks like it is primed to be a consistent power in the MVC. The real key is for WSU to keep a quality coach who is wants to stay long term like a Altman.

      Or Coach Few.

Of course, you are sooo right again about a long term coach. It is easy to wish for, but hard to have.

I just checked out the site and the first thing i saw was a 6th place prediction for WSU. Seriously 6th place? For a team that finished 2nd last year, and lost one player?

The same guy had Illinois State winning the league and Drake finishing 2nd. That's all you need to know about that prediction.

            ... No really, deuces.

For those of you interested, our users have been ranking the MVC over the past 8 weeks. We are now predicting the 2010-11 regular season champion between the final two teams - Missouri State and Wichita State. You need to be registered to vote (which only takes a moment), but we welcome your input and hope you will take a moment to visit the site.
