They ranked Indiana State #7 in the Valley. That means three teams will not make the countdown. I believe they will be Evansville, Drake and SIU.

I could see those three being UE, SIU and the other ISU.

I'm with Trop. I think Illinois State, despite losing what they did, will still be picked higher than Drake. SIU and UE look to definitely be the bottom two in any preseason poll.

Does anyone know what UNI was in their Top 144 last year? Since I believe they were the preseason MVC favorite, it would be reasonable to expect a similar ranking for us this year...

UNI was #59. CU was ranked higher.

I thought CU was the favorite at around the low 40s and UNI upper 50s or lower 60s. Memory has been known to let me down though.

That was when Joel along with myself and many others didn't believe UNI could do it a 2nd time.

Well I had forgotten CU was picked higher. I would hope we'd at least be in the 40's.

A different writer did a early top 50 back in April. He had us at #49 at that time. Not sure if Joel will see it the same way as of now. So I'll say he'll put us anywhere from 39-45.
