And they should have much better team chemistry than last year.

While I agree, I really hope sCUm underachieves. Last year was a blast having them off of the radar. One year just isn't enough.

Nah... I can hate them more if they're good.

I'm not sure what to make of that statement. It's a confusing one and I think I know what you're getting at but I enjoy seeing them in turmoil and with no success. That just may be me though.

We NEED CU to be a good team. Then kick their butts. We need some good league opponents to help out with post-season opportunities. It's almost got to be CU.

SIU - Went from contender to pretender in a heartbeat and it appears to be caused by a coach they can't afford to fire.

UNI - Went begging to the State to keep the subsidies coming or they would have to drop athletics. This on the heels of dropping baseball.

BU - Jim Les. Read Suellentrop's countdown to October 15 entry in Shockwaves if you don't understand. http://blogs.kansas.com/shockwaves/

MSU - A possible quality opponent, but we need more than one. With what they pay coaches, they can't be relied on year in and year out.

The other 4 valley teams - There might be a good team out of the whole bunch of them about once a decade.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I think CU will be a competitive team, maybe a little more than most of us Shockers might want, especially after Eschenique starts playing.

McDermott is a competitive coach, and since he is now back where he is most comfortable, I think they will be a formidable opponent.

They are still probably the team that I love to see the Shcokers beat the most. I want to beat them on their home? court this season.

I disagree. I always enjoy watching us beat sCUm, but it's so much sweeter when we wreck their chances of placing first or second.

Pretty interesting. I just went to look at the 2009-10 preseason rankings on collegehoops.net and compared them with ESPN's final standings.

They actually did a pretty decent job of selecting teams.

Maybe because they threw a boatload of money his way and threw in the added bonus of easy scheduling?
