I really haven't seen anything from the UCONN fans to get upset about. I've never really liked UCONN, but their fans' posts have all seemed halfway decent, not much disrespect. I know we all have seen much, much worse and maybe the UCONN fans will get worse near gametime...but so far, nothing to throw a fit over.

I think there are some kernals of respect in there.

They are giving us more respect than Michigan St fans. I looked over at their scout board and they haven't even mentioned the possibility of playing us. They have only talked about Playing UCONN.

Not that I like it, but I guess I can understand it. UConn has won national championships, so I suppose their fans feel a bit superior. I guess if we had won one we might be that way too--to an extent. It's just a case of very high expectations set because their team consistently reaches most of them probably, and you can't blame them for that I guess.

I agree with the people that are saying that their 'confidence' or arrogance or whatever is neither unexpected nor particularly annoying.

We just need to give them a reality check in Maui by beating them. We also need to win consistently year in and year out and I think you'll find that the attitudes of those fan bases will change from arrogance to respect.

Win baby win! That's all we need to do.

Found this particular post interesting (apparently from a UCONN fan in Mass):

Wichita ST was not going to be an easy game for a young team like ours no matter who they added. Nonetheless I hope this kid Ragland improved dramtatically after he left my area because honestly he was a good HS player who could shoot it but couldn't ever be thought of in the same sentence with Kemba or someone of that ability. Also 5'10" is more like it by the way.

Can't argue with what the UCONN fan said about the high school comparison between Joe and Kemba Walker.

Hopefully a win over UConn n possibly another win or two will propel us into a very successful season, giving us the confidence and experience we will need to win the Valley and beyond.

I go along with the Shockers having the most to gain. It's a great tournament and opportunity for us.

                      Steve Megargee's answer:

I believe Wichita State and Washington have the most to gain. A couple of wins over big-name programs from a major conference could help a mid-major program such as Wichita State boost its NCAA tournament resume long before it enters conference play.

As far as Kemba, has some strengths, but also quite a few weaknesses:

He's the kind of player that makes nobody else better, can't spell team, and will beat you every time down the stretch.

If we control the game with our experience, and frustrate him with our team play, we'll be fine.

If we allow it to come down to the end, we'll be in deep.

Very funny. We know we will be somewhere around #30.
