Wonder if this story will go anywhere?

LAWRENCE, Kan. – A high-ranking member of the University of Kansas athletic department and the father of a prominent Jayhawks’ athlete allegedly made more than $800,000 in a ticket scalping operation that was orchestrated by college basketball power brokers David and Dana Pump, Yahoo! All just a coincidence -- KU and sleaze money -- fits like a glove! Sounds so natural!

Hasn't changed since Wilt kept wrecking cars and getting new replacements!

Roger Morningstar has coached some of those summer traveling teams, one of which included his son, Brady, who committed to Kansas in 2006. Since Jones, Freeman and Roger Morningstar allegedly engaged in scalping tickets through the Pump brothers in 2002, summer traveling teams financed by the Pump brothers have featured at least nine players who went on to play for the Jayhawks. Among them were nationally recruited players Mario Chalmers, David Padgett, Omar Wilkes, Tyrel Reed, Elijah Johnson, Jeff Withey, Travis Releford and Brady Morningstar.
Oops - there's more to the story than just crooked admins.

Sneak a couple hundred grand into the pockets of AAU coaches and players on their teams end up on your campus.

Disgusting, but not surprising. You know what's even more disgusting? They will get nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Their program will not end up with any meaningful sanctions. You might see some lower down scapegoat in the department get fired, but none of the big wigs will get any serious consequences. Welcome to big money+college sports, where the big boys do what they want and the little guys are left to scrounge for what's left. If something like this had happened to us, we'd be looking at probation and suspension from NCAA tourney play for a minimum of a year and probably more. Won't happen with KU though.

Aargh, are you questioning Bill Self's touted ability to sell himself and the KU program without any outside influence? Surely you jest! Remember, he is the greatest recruiter in college basketball today. You are obviously mistaken about there being any outside influence that helps him land players. His personality alone is reason enough for the players to want to go there.

You definitely need to mend your ways and your thinking!

Press conference by who? I thought k-who wasn't going to comment on this due to the ongoing investigation by a Wichita law firm. They must be taking ALOT of heat on the news article and feel they need to control the spin on this. Will the news conference be on locally?

610 Sports Radio has learned the internal investigation at KU and the ticket scandal dates back to 2005.

Listen to 610 Sports online to see if they'll air it.

Lew "the puppet master" better be above reproach on this issue. He's bad medicine for KU and for the entire state for that matter. His stinky reputation just keeps growing and spreading throughout the entire state.

…We made a half-million dollars [that weekend]. I got on the MARTA with $200,000 in each pocket. It was all in one-hundred dollar bills. Every $10,000 had a paper clip and they were rolled up…One of them was about 250 pounds and he [expletive] talked like [he had a New Jersey accent]. You seen Goodfellas? I don’t know who the [expletive] they were. I can honestly tell you, I don’t know who the [expletive] they were. It was ‘This is the room you go to, this is the guy you need to see.’ There were no [expletive] names. The door would open and a guy would be standing there with a gun. You walk in, do the deal and you’re out.

Can we get a popcorn emoticon?
