Just imagine all of the taunts that are going to be hurled his way when he is trying to shoot free throws.

"Hey, Brady, can your dad get us some more tickets to the next game?"

    Etc., etc.

One thing that might be overlooked here is that apparently KU was getting tickets from other school's alottments for NCAA games(and bowl games) and the thiefs were pocketing the profits from those. A Ticket Office person and manager could pave the way for access to a lot of those tickets. Maybe that's why it was so hard to sniff out and why Lew allowed it to happen (I mean, didn't know about it).

[quote="WuDrWu"]Perhaps the most stupid, arrogant and chickenshat comment I have ever heard from anyone was the Chancellor trying to tell the media that the athletic deparment was the victim here.

I agree Doc, but when big lew started out his speech with thanking the chancellor and others for their hard work and support I just about puked. This was coming from a man who had some serious a-- kissing to do and he was working overtime to save his miserable hide. He did accept responsiblity ( as anyone in his position should) right up to the point of saying he was responsible but not for any criminal responsiblity. The man is scared to death as well he should. I think we should get together and send him a case of chap stick or carmex since he is going to need it.

Big Lew just collected more than a $4,400,000 bonus. He doesn't need to kiss anthing.

I read the reports and didn't see any mention of Roger Morningstar. Everything I read pointed to the people in the atheltic department and the ticket brokers. Looks like it was a culture somehow created at the school where it was their way of subsidizing their salaries and it had probably been that way for a long time. Hard to believe Lew had no knowledge of this after this many years of blatant corruption.

Never mind. I had only read the KU issued report. Looks like this is much deeper than the KU athletic dpartment. Those Pump brothers are going to see some serious jail time.

Roger Morningstar obtains bundles of cash from KU tickets.

His son turns down full rides to other schools to attend KU on his own dime and so KU can sign, theoretically, more talented and less well off "student athletes" (play laugh track #3) that wouldn't be able to pay their own way.

I am fully aware of the relationship between KU and the Morningstars and I have no doubt Brady wanted to play for KU. However, if you can't see the connection there, then there is no hope for you.

I was referring to current allegations, which do not list Morningstar in the reports issued by KU. Obviously this thing is going to get much deeper and probably spread out on a national basis.

The only thing that kinda upsets me but doesn't really surprise me is that KU will not feel anything other than maybe a stern cautionary warning from the NCAA. WSU would be under threat of the death warning.

MorningStar was mentioned prominently in the original Yahoo article that accompanies this thread. He may not have been mentioned in the recent release of documents by the university, but he definitely was a prime facilitator of many of the transactions, as reported by the Yahoo article authors.

If you want to take exception to that information, take exception with the authors and their sources.

To paraphrase Will Rogers, and bring his saying into the current era, "I only know what I read on the Internet."

Major scandal at KU, so naturally the major concern of this KU fan is the radio listening habits of WuDrWu.

Seems like University of Oklahoma is connected to this mess:
Charlette Blubaugh, who was the executive administrative assistant to the athletic director at the University of Central Oklahoma, resigned that position Wednesday, the Daily Oklahoman reported Thursday.

It seems OU is where the scam training occurs. Coincidence that it seems the scandal at KU started shortly after the Blumbaughs left OU?
