Not sure where to post this, but since basketball is our main sport...
Interesting contrast between a few schools when one compares/contrasts revenue v expense as well as contributions and state/gov't contributions
WSU: 22.8M revenue 18M expense 8M contributions 0 Gov't dollars
KSU: 48.0M revenue 51M expense 12M contributions 1.9M Gov't
KU: 69.0M revenue 67M expense 27M contributions 0 Gov't
MSU: 13.8M revenue 13.8M exp 3.2M contributions 0 Gov't
IlSU: 14.4M revenue 14.8M exp 1.4M contributions 0 Gov't
UNI: 16.5M revenue 16.9M exp 2.6M contributions 0 Gov't
I didn't really get the chance to dive into what it all means as I'm at the airport between flights. However, almost the same gap in revenue between WSU v KSU and KSU v KU.
Not sure how KSU got 1.9M Gov't contributions. Maybe one of the emaws can comment.
Got to give Sexton kudos for increasing revenues over the years. I'm still not sure what the heck to think of the guy though (How about an indepth article Suellentrop). However, credit seems to be due...
