Watched the N. Platte v. Butler game. He is quick, distributes the ball well, stroke looks good. Looks a bit passive on defense, but HCGM will right that ship. All-in-all a good looking PG. Shocks look to be rock solid in the backcourt with the addition of Ragland.

        Is he quick?

Can he dribble drive and ....finish?

Can he rebound? Yes, I said rebound.

He gets to the line about 5.4 times a game. Tops on the Shox was 3.7 pg. He also shot 56% FG, 10 points higher than his impressive 45.8% from 3pt.

So, yes, I'm gonna guess he can dribble drive.....and finish.

Does he have Tyrone's patented, ankle snapping crossover, dribble-drive penetration move?

If he does, I would like to be an orthopedic surgeon administering to teams in the Missouri Valley.

I'd be interested to hear from Ogirri's bro who still makes appearances on occasions. IIRC he is from the Springield, Mass area.

Watching the replay of the Butler/North Platte game, it appears that between JR and DW, we will be in good shape at PG.

I think we knew we were out of the mix with Carter and maybe we liked Ragland better who knows..I was curious though...is he a step up from Cousins? I kind of thought that we had Carter 1st and Cousins 2nd....

Im glad we got someone and it seems as though people are excited about him and hes excited about ust
1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

It appears the coaching staff wasn't even on Ragland until the NJCAA tournament. It was a late and frantic recruiting job.

Wichita State coaches finished off a fast pursuit of Ragland during his visit last weekend. They watched him play in the NJCAA Tournament in Hutchinson earlier this month and approached him after a game.
So I think for a long time it probably was Carter 1st and Cousin 2nd. What were Ragland's stats during the tourney? Perhaps he had a better tournament than Cousin. Who knows?
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

Personally, I would put Ragland just behind Carter on the "wish list". But if I'm Marshall, here is how it goes down . . .

"I'd really like to get Marquise in a Shocker uniform, but he sure seems interested in Gonzaga and OU, and they are tough recruiting opponents. Ragland is nearly as good. And look at my, eh-hem, competition: Boylen, Altman, Larranaga. (snickers) I really like our chances to land this juco 1st-teamer! And he looks like a maker!"

(No offense to Larranaga or GMU fans, if you know what I mean.)
