Don't you remember tw805? Aggie Tech is already at ELITE status.
Which building on KU's campus is a "Regents funded" building?

"Funding
(1) Funding for Buildings and Construction Projects may be provided from General Revenue funds, educational building
funds, revenue bond proceeds, restricted fees, research overhead funds and other resources as approved by the Board."
So take your pick.

My hat's off to Frank Martin. I hope he and GM follow through and get a series scheduled in the near future. I'm cheering for Butler and Baylor. Kind of funny a "B" team got KSU. Both KSU and KU need to steer clear of the killer "B's"."Two dribbles and a ham sandwich" ~ Gregg Marshall

I will always root for K-State as long as Frank Martin is the coach. He's a top shelf person, as well as a great coach. But, if we're going to give props to Frank and the players, we should probably give props to Delonte Hill, who is basically the mastermind behind most of the talent you saw on the court for the Wildcats. He isn't the highest paid assistant in the country for nothing, folks.

All of the Regents schools have received some funding in the past to build or make additions to buildings. K-State has fared probably as well as Ku on this front.
In recent years, state money for building new buildings has been very hard to come by for any of the institutions. In fact, Pittsburg St. received several million dollars a few years ago for a Science & Technology building as I recall and that may be the last building to receive some state funding.
WSU has fared the worst (from a relative standpoint) of any of the six regents institutions over the years. But WSU has received some funding for capital improvements. As I recall, around 1993 (I may be off by a year or two either way, it is late at night) WSU received some money for improvements for the Campus Library. That may be the first time that WSU received money for capital improvements per se.
I personally believe that WSU did not receive as much money for capital improvements as the other Regents Institutions in the past because in my opinion many of the Regents believed that since WSU had a 1.5 local mill levy they didn't need the state help.
In addition all of the Regents Institutions are currently receiving state money for "deferred maintenance" of buildings. While the formula gives the most money to Ku and K-state by far, and in my opinion, short changes WSU a little, it is not as bad as some of the earlier distribution proposals would have been (towards WSU).
WSU has also received some other special funding from the Legislature in recent years (beyond the regular budget). NIAR (National Institute of Aviation Research) has received some state funding for research during the last few years.

I told my friends that I would support whoever won this game, Butler because they're a mid-major, KSU because they're Kansas boys. So, go Bulldogs, and best of luck reloading for next year BCScat. I think Martin is a class act (mostly because Marshall likes him enough to scrimmage with him). ;)

Anyway, I'm happy for the Butler win if for not other reason but proving to all the a-hole BCS'ers out there that yes mid majors when given the proper seeding can make the Final 4 with a shot at the title.
Oh well, on to spring football.....

The capital improvements at KSU in the last 30 years or so have been significant. These include the Hale Library, many additions to existing buildings along with several other new ones - all approved and funded by the state. In addition private gifts have not only benefited the athletic programs but recently funded the new Leadership Studies building. I recently toured it and it is a beautiful facility that was largely paid for by Cereal Food Processors.
So sorry but K-Staters like me just don't feel shorted by the Regents and if we did I doubt we would whine about it but instead would find a way to do something about it.
Anyway I just started this thread to say congratulations to Butler, not discuss the Regents. So, again, great game by the Bulldogs and I'm still proud om our Wildcats. Great season with even better times ahead.
