My bro-in-law is a big KU fan. I had to rub in the loss today a little so I sent him a text. He responded "Yeah, KU brings the best out in teams. So what is WSU up to these days?"

I responded "Doing about the SAME THING KU is doing...watching the rest of the tournament from a lazy chair"

I have yet to get a response. KU fans can be a little "slow" with their comebacks.

Come on boy, you back from blowin' chucks yet?

We gotta a lot mo for ya.

Btw, your sister says hey. When you see her, tell her to rub some dirt on it. Her limp will go away in a week or two.
I guess he missed the part where Egleseder pretty much abused Aldrich for half the game. UNI did plenty more than just "chuck up 3's" LOL. This guy is a riot!!!

Kudos to Ben Jacobsen tonight folks.

One of the reasons I dislike KU so much, is they have the 'best' of everything--year in year out as far as recruiting goes. Silver spoon mentality. They think (along with many of their fans) that they are ENTITLED to win everything just 'because'.

We get it. They're good. But what's so satisfying is every so often--be it Bucknell, UNI or Bradley--a team that doesn't take their position for granted comes in and knocks them back a notch.

Maybe they'll consider leaving Allen Field House sometime before Big 12 play once and a while after this (fat chance). No, I'm not talking about neutral site games either.
I think the players were outplayed. They were not inspired to play UNI. I agree that it is a part of a scheduling issue that a lot of the elite programs have. Their players (not the coaches) take the "mid-major" programs as an automatic win. KU playing Temple in Philadelphia is not going to toughen up KU. Hopefully, we'll see better scheduling in the future, because frankly I don't get excited to see KU playing Alcorn State, Radford, Central Arkansas, etc at AFH and would like to see some 2:1 or 3:2 games played against the non-BCS teams in their tough environments. KU players took UNI as a guaranteed win, and it backfired. I'm pi$$ed about it and KU players have only themselves to blame!

Collins, who Kansas coach Bill Self called "the face of the program" for the past two seasons, didn't even show his face during the postgame news conference, leaving Tyrel Reed and Cole Aldrich to take the slinging arrows. Both of them talked about the pain of not being able to advance farther for Collins. So did Self.

Collins usually puts Kansas on his shoulders during times of stress. Against Northern Iowa, he was too busy engaging in immature antics with UNI point guard Kwadzo Ahelegbe, who found an entry into Collins' head early and stayed there the whole game.

Ahelegbe made 1 of 11 shots and scored five points. Yet even with those nasty numbers, he played Collins to a standstill because Collins waited too long to assert himself physically because he was so compromised mentally.

He often complained to officials that he was being pushed or held. He shoved Ahelegbe as the teams were walking to the bench for a timeout. But late, after Northern Iowa had finally been able to put the game out of reach, Ahelegbe just laughed at Collins.

Collins played 38 minutes, most of them spinning his wheels. He scored 10 points, eight in the second half, but turned the ball over five times.

Also did any of the KU                 crybabies shake the hands of the winning team after the game ended?

Also, KU has now lost in the second round for the third time as a No.1 seed, the MOST of any school.

          Deuces Valley.
          ... No really, deuces.

Unfortunately for KU, I doubt any of the decent valley teams would be willing to schedule a 2-1 or a 3-2 with them. You might get an Evansville or a Drake to take the bait, but that won't really help you very much as far as tournament preparation is concerned.

              Dear Nightwatchman,

              Firstly-

              Buy a box of these:

(FYI Walmart, Dillons, and certain Walgreens locations are all still open at this hour.)

              Secondly-

Enroll in a class course such as this as soon as possible, that is if you really want people to take your education and university smack in a remotely serious manner:

              Lastly-

If you have so much of your personal identity wrapped up in the fanhood of a sports team that it causes you to act out in this manner, then you need to get an education, or a career, or a lady friend, or a stamp collection, or hell... a miniature schnauzer breeding set. FREAKING. SOMETHING.

I think your being a little harsh RB. After all look at what he has achieved with his stellar education. A nightwatchmen is after all a noble undertaking.

Nightwatchman's going to have to get a new logon for shockernet...he's worked so hard all these years to convince us he's not a douche...to all be ruined in one night of drinking....I nominated this thread as thread of the week. Even kusports.com has posters asking who this clown is telling him to get his punk a$$ off our site.

Sports Center is living on this game right now and WSU's even getting pub...nice.

But Nightwatchman since you're completely ignorant: Reasons why WSU would cheer for UNI over KU

                    1. More money for WSU with every UNI win

                    2. UNI legitimizing the MVC with every win

                    3. KU cries every time WSU takes something away from them...if you need details, then just leave now.

                    4. Every UNI win = more pub time for WSU

                    5. Better chances for WSU NCAA bids in the future

                    6. KU fans are….well….like you

What are you talking about? There's a mass of third shift employees who are at the absolute top of their game. I would be lost without them turning on the pumps at QT, and making certain my favorite Tic Tac flavor is within easy reach at the Walmart check-out.

I would love to see WSU take a 3-2 with KU (1-1 would be better and 2-1 is unacceptable but 3-2 is reasonable).

                              • Here's my theory, the Nightwatchmen is Doc Holiday on phog.net. Anyway, Mr. Night, are you going onto every message board in the midwest and trying to defend your hawks at the same time dissing their fan base?

I seriously doubt a Shocker fan visited phog.net and created a thread to piss some KU fans off. But, you feel the need to come on our board and do that to us. You wonder why there are Shocker fans out there that can't stand anything about KU. Look in the mirror.

Instead of being part of the problem, consider being part of the solution. What a weirdo......
