It was also mentioned that Aldrich was the 1st 7 footer Eglseder would face this year.

That's stupid for 2 reasons.

1) of course he faced Stutz

2) Aldrich ain't even 7 damn feet tall and today was the FIRST time I've ever heard an announcer say that he was LOL

It's like they couldn't stand for a little "mid-major" to have a guy bigger than a pre-season All-American on the #1 team in the country.

Aldrich came on late in his soph. Year. Comparing his performance against UNI tonigh, while good, looks like #41 might end up OK.

No, cause he's not 7 foot. Sure he's 6'11" or whatever so it's not much different. I just found it funny because I've seen plenty of KU games and they've never said he was 7 foot. Announcers love it when a guy is listed as 7 foot because they mention it every 2 seconds. Out of all the games I've seen no one ever mentions Aldrich as a 7 footer until tonight when he is going up against Egleseder.

I wasn't really irritated by it, but just another piece of mis-information to go along with others throughout the broadcast.

I haven't seen many people make Aldrich look kinda small though. Tonight, next to Shrek....he looked a little smaller.

Notably, the Missouri Valley has received just 33 total bids from 1994-2010, meaning nearly one of every four Valley NCAA berths since 1994 have resulted in a Sweet 16 trip.

That is a pretty damn good record for the MVC

Especially since MVC teams are almost always getting a bad seed (even this year UNI should have been a 5 to 7 seed, not a 9 seed).

Makes you wonder what the "except for Creighton" number would be. CU got some legitimate pub when they had Kyle Korver, but other than that, they've not done much for the Valley's rep. In fact, they've led the pack in holding the Valley's rep down.

That has GOT to be among the best of the "non-BCS" conferences

What the MVC is missing is an Elite 8 appearnce. Xavier has had at least two. Tulsa had one after they left the MVC.

St. Joe's made it to the Elite 8.

Kent State made it.

And of course Utah and UMass made the Final Four.

I would guess the A-10 has a better record.

Tulsa went twice. In 1994 they beat UCLA & Oklahoma St. In 1995 they beat Illinois & Old Dominion

I would guess the A-10's would be better than the MVC's by a significant margin thanks to the runs by UMASS in the late 90s, Temple circa 2000-01, St. Joe's in 04 and Xavier from 05-10. Lots of elite eights and a final four in that group.

The MAC, on the other hand, is a joke most seasons and their NCAA record bears it out. Especially if you take out the fluke Kent St run in 2002.

I would be most curious to see our record vs. that of the MWC in the tournament, especially in the years since they broke off from the former Mega-WAC.

I love Kevin Harlan since listening to him do the Chiefs radio broadcasts back in the day, "Ohhhh baby what a play!".

Anyway, he's a KC guy and you will notice that if the situation fits and the time is right, he will namedrop and pump up the teams from Missouri and Kansas and this includes Wichita State.

Nobody is perfect and many announcer has made more outrageous errors than what he did. He did clarify this many times over in the broadcast too.

He also did the Shox and Tennessee tv broadcast during our Sweet 16 run too.
