I happen to think I married up, and I'd be damned depressed if my wife decided to leave me!

        Mike Anderson? Really?

Mizzou fans should fold up their program if their coach leaves them for Aurburn. Talk about a slap in the face.

Yeah...so? No one has facts to support either argument. Everyone just has a feeling.

Give me any FACTS as to why I shouldn't feel this way? What great hires has he made at Wichita St or any other school? What other athletic departments has he successfully ran? His lack of experience is the concern...that is a FACT.

Perhaps he goes on to become the greatest AD in Shocker history. There is just no reason to feel that way at this point.
I see, so you really base it on nothing.

          Thanks.

I know Eric to be smart, sharp and strategic who is great at building relationships. Leaps and bounds better than Schaus at building relationships.

Schaus does have good contacts and I'm thinking we still have access to Schaus network because we have access to Schaus.

While I do not know this to be a fact Jim did leave on very good terms AFAIK and I am assuming he would be available to ADES if asked for input and contacts.

Also, I can think of about 750,000 other good reasons that ADES will be able to make a quality hire.

That is a nice arrow to have in ADES quiver.

Hopefully, by the time we find out what kind of hire ADES will make he will be a seasoned and well-connected AD himself.

In any case, not something that is keeping me awake at night.

This is something we will always have to deal with. Face it, WSU is a stepping stone to BCS programs. If the situation was right, I would not blame GM for leaving for a bigger program for a million plus a year. A man's gotta do what he has too for his family and his career.

However, let's just wait for the rumor mill to stop spinning before we get our blood pressure up.

If it would happen, the next logical hire would be Boyle.

I, too, have concerns about ADES, and they are not being alleviated. I guess the prove is in the pudding, whenever that happens. If he is doing so much good, it sure is going on in a QUIET WAY.

Personally, I liked Schaus's style better, he was much more interactive.

                      Auburn

Say what you want about the SEC, but WSU is a better job than Auburn.

All taking a bad job in a power conference does is get you fired once you aren't able to overcome what makes it bad, which in Auburn's case is a whole laundry list of things: for example, lack of interest; lack of institutional priority (Auburn has "minor" sports such as swimming that matter more than basketball does, to say nothing of their big four of football, spring football, football recruiting, and trying to beat Alabama in football); and lack of a recruiting base or a place to which to recruit (Alabama's big land grant school is located in a town like Manhattan, except without the Flint Hills or a basketball tradition).

We'll be listening to these rumors forever, and the paranoid among us will obsess endlessly about them. But Marshall isn't dumb, and he can look at plenty of guys who have taken bad power conference jobs and ended up getting dumped a few years later. It would be the mother of all shockers, so to speak, if there was anything to this.

If selection Sunday plays out and the MVC is again a one bid league. That is what will cause hcgm to leave sooner than we like. Elgin needs another sit down with coaches, ad's and presidents and explain how the MVC will ALWAYS be at least a 2 bid conference.

I don't care how bad the losses are, the valley should not be talking about it's second place team, that made it to the conference final, losing to the number one team, being on the bubble. The f***ing third place team is where the bubble talk should start for the valley, NOT second!

Marshall has won no championships at WSU, nor tournament championships. Next year is set to be his best yet, and the following year looks excellent too. If he stays, he has a very realistic chance at winning the MVC, making it to the big dance and winning some games, etc. He will then have access to much better offers than Auburn. I'm pretty sure he knows this. He's not a habitual job hopper. My money says he stays at least one more year, if for nothing else to get on better footing to get offered something even better than Auburn.

I personally don't think HCGM would leave for Auburn. However, after next year we can certainly expect more and more interest in Gregg. I personally don't wan't WSU to be a revolving door every 3-4 years of new coaches. You don't see that with USU nor with Gonzaga. It is my hope that you won't see it with WSU either.

ADES might be bright, strategic, and great at building relationships, but all of that is anecdotal. It will really come down to results, and I personally hope and am counting on that Sexton will deliver.

Let's make sure Gregg is paid what he deserves to stay at WSU.

HCGM pretty much explained all this already on one of the Coach's shows. He basically said, "Why would I be redshirting players?", or something like that, if he didn't plan on sticking around.

How was Schaus more interactive? Some of the criticism on SN about Sexton was he was too much of a "glad hander."

                                What concerns do you have?

                                Just curious.
