Jeez louise, talk about a not so subtle gratuitous offer just to get close to some young thangs. But seriously phanthom you have been my idol for years and I hope to follow in your footsteps so that I too may lead a life such as yours. So, I'll be staying at the Westin again next year and you are more than welcome to come by and if the need to bring some of the cheerleaders or the dance team leader strikes you then I supposed you could invited them along as well.

Phantom, you're either gay (not that there is anything wrong with that) or my new best friend at Arch Madness. Feel free to go ahead and make plans to have drinks with me, my treat, next year. Lot's of them. Bring your friends too, I'm buying.
Definately not gay. About as far from it as you can get. I was just fortunate during and after my years at ISU to have a lot of friends who happened to be on our spirit squads. As for drinks at Arch Madness next year---definately! I always enjoy having some coldies with Shocker fans, so you can count on it for sure. Hell I'll even introduce you all to some of the friends I mentioned above. 8)
      I'm there! :D
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

Then by deduction I conclude that you are married to a woman who is mute, does not speak English, or is otherwise rendered incapable of talking to you.
Nope. Just has to do with setting and maintaining boundaries of my own choosing. That is all.

Boundaries like a big barbed wire fence that separates the two of you? Now we're talking.

Don't fool yourself, Doc, they may say they'll understand and all, but when push comes to shove, they'll understand no more than you would. Through the beauties of the ages, Marilyn, Raquel, etc., my wife has always said she would understand if I somehow had ever gotten lucky and had the chance. And just the other day, she confessed she lied like hell. But when you quit looking, you are dead.

My group actually got kicked out of Hooters on Thursday night. And we were just minding our own business. (seriously)

I can tell you that I think the management regretted their decision as well as the person complaining (not a MVC fan).

But otherwise, the six of us had a good time in Soulard, Laclede's landing and walking to the Arena from Pappy's (somewhere near St. Louis U) on a glorious sunny Saturday, with a stop at that Irish place near Union Station.

There is a place in Soulard whose waitresses' "get up" make Hooters Girls look like the high school glee club. Seriously. I was stuned. Stockings with half shirts and I am not joking. Of course the place was just one big coque fight, if you know what I mean.

Washington Street is a funky place to go too.

The train ride from KC to St. Louis was long but fun. Lots of cards and general boisterous behaviour with the train crew. Thankfully we drove home on Sunday and saved nearly two hours. (one in our party drove on Friday a.m.)

I thought almost all of the other schools' fans were just fine. The CU and SIU fans almost looked embarrassed, especially the SIU fans we saw Thursday night after their ouster.

Many in my group had many several conversations with fans from other MVC schools who universally did not like Creighton or their fans.

The Scottrade beer price really isn't bad, except you are required to buy the equivalent of two beers at a time. It's only two more bucks than a pop.

The corn dogs in Scottrade Center are pretty good.

The brewery on Laclede's has good food. And at least they were patronizing the MVC by having every school's flag tacked on their rafters. They were brand new flags though, as the creases and folds were highly evident.

The Buffalo Brewery next to Pappy's is good. We wanted to go to Pappy's but the line was 100 deep. We ate their last year and while their bbq is good, it isn't 100-deep-line good.

The Dubliner on Washington Street has good food, good service and a lively atmosphere.

Watching the game in the stands, even the upper deck, is better than a suite, in my opinion.

Though the State Farm folks like taking your picture, they do not like their picture being taken.

                    The blow-up 10-foot tall Natl Guard guy was . . . odd.

HCGM and the players were very gracious when being asked for their photos.

It has always been a kick for me to see Shocker friends so many miles from home, including many Shockernet posters.

Based on the presence of the Shocker fans and our performance this year, and our likely performance duing the regular season next year, I believe we will beat the 2006 record of 2500 all-session passes sold next year.

And speaking of tickets, after 8 or 9 years, I have finally concluded it is just easier and probably cheaper to buy all-session passes, rather than piece mealing each game via the box office, scalpers, people unloading their tickets or give aways.

Please plan on invading St. Louis next year.

Shocker fans will not regret it.
